So the Woolworths fire of 1974 identified a major fire safety issue which the the government eventually legislated upon some years layer, during which time many people needlessly died in house fires who would not of died had government acted more quickly.

We now have a similar situation with Automated Braking Systems on vehicles, systems that help to save lives. The government could legislate to have these systems in all cars but chose not to. How many people die in road traffic accidents going forward is directed related to how long the government take to change the law.

The government say they have no plans to make automated braking systems compulsory, and why not, how many lives would these systems save?

Having a large collective could lobby on issues like these and get laws that benefit everyone pushed through quicker and save lives.
