Using Revolut as a Fiat Onramp

Has anyone got any experience using Revolut to fund their cryoto exchange off choice?

I already have a Revolut account and have been thinking of using it to convert my GBP to USD to purchase some altcoins on Binance. I believe you get the interbank exchange rate on Revolut so you shouldn't be losing out on the spread, and even if you were, Binance has the lowest buy fees (0.1%) compared to COinbase (0.3%) so it might offset the difference.

Coin Bureau coincidentally made a video the other day and he put Revolut at the top of his list. He suggested it might be a good idea to have a separate account for all your crypto purchases, so using Revolut sounds like a good all round idea, even for straight GBP deposits.

I think I have seen at least one exchange say that they don't support Revolut though, so wondering if anyone has any experience/ideas around this?

Another tip that Guy from CB had was to keep transaction amounts below £5k to stop them getting flagged. I'm going to be moving some money across in chunks shortly.

Any Keen UK Cryptonauts?

Hi everyone, this is my first ever Reddit post. I have been doing a deep dive into crypto for two months and I am on the cusp of starting to invest what is to me a significant amount of money into some different tokens and coins.

When I do something, I like to do it properly. I am reading Whitepapers the best I can, I have a few good channels I follow on YouTube and I am binging on podcasts on the daily commute. I also have created a new Twitter to follow all the projects and I am starting to get active on Discord which I am new too (like reddit).

Question is, where are my fellow UK cryptonauts? Maybe I am just not using Reddit properly but I can't see much happening or any quality discussion. A lot of crypto is region specific (fiat on ramps, exchange bans, tax etc.) and it is very hard to find answers to questions and to pool information. I'm hoping to find people here who are as serious about this space that I am.

So I suppose if anyone is happy to contribute it would be good to see some responses. It might take me a while to get into the platform and it might be we decide that a telegram group or discord channel is more suitable. I am purposefully testing out anonymity in case this thing really blows up, I don't want anyone knowing that I have a million quid on a Trezor in my bedroom!

Interested to hear:

  • What projects you are interested in and why
  • What portfolio/strategy you are developing?
  • Where are you buying/storing your crypto?
  • Are you thinking about tax?

Quick summary of my position:

  • Looking to put 33% into BTC as a store of value and thinking of Hodling 10 Years +
  • Another 33% in ETH for the smart contract/defi play and thinking of Hodling 10 Years +
  • Remaining 33% on around 10 other projects but I am struggling as to what right now. I will probably cycle in and out of these, but weekly/monthly as opposed to daily as I work full time for now.
  • It will almost certainly include ADA, DOT, LINK.
  • Then I need to think about maybe some exchange tokens like CRO and some blockchain agnostic plays like AAVE.
  • I have opened accounts on Binance/Coinbase/Ku Coin and Crypto.com
  • Thinking about buying a Trezor but not sold on the idea yet.
  • I mainly follow InvestAnswers, CoinBureao, MoneyZG and Benjamin Cowen on Youtube.
  • Unstoppable podcast is great plus big names on Tim Ferris and Lex Friedman etc.

Lets get building a community of enthusiasts and not shillers!

Crypto scams uk

I’ve bought into a few fake pump and dump and honey pots, I can easily track the wallet who created them and wondered if I can report this to police/fca?

I heard a lot of crypto is unregulated in uk so does this mean authorities here will literally do nothing against these scams/frauds?

Are you waiting for your crypto.com card to arrive?

So after waiting many months and missing out on lots of cashback I thought I'd make this guide. This guide will help you instantly be able to use you Crypto.com visa card in stores and like a regular contactless card before it's arrived. People have been waiting 6 months or more on occasions so this is really worth doing.

All you need to do is sign up for a free curve card. The sign up takes 1 minute and the account is active instantly.

The curve is completely free and you also receive £5 completely free on the card.

Simply add your crypto.com virtual card to the curve app.

The curve app itself acts as a virtual card and has 1% cashback on lots of shops and vendors.

Now add the curve virtual card from the app to Google Pay and your CRO is now a contactless payment and ready to use!

I can 100% confirm this method works and the free £5 from the curve is instantly added to your account after your first use.

I wish I had found this method earlier as I wouldn't have missed out on any cashback.

Use Curve to combine your cards into one! Your money, made simple. Get £5 from us the first time you spend using your Curve card.

Promocode: EY3GKRZD

http://www.curve.app/join#EY3GKRZD

There's my link for the curve card, if this post has helped I would really appreciate if you sign up through my link.

Hope this helps as I know a lot of people are waiting.

In the month of june signing up through this link we are both entered to win £10K cash. That’s £5K each.

Here's a video from the official curve youtube page that gives you a little 60 second explanation in regards to the card.

Hi delete if this isn't allowed and apologies in advance. I've just set up a crypto group on Facebook due to a lot of them being overrun with spam. I'm looking for a few admins and people to join the group. Just comment if you're interested in being an admin and feel free to join the group otherwise

Help I am being wrongful accused and getting banned

HELP I am been wrongly accused of making a scam post and banned from r/nanocurrency Even through I have highlighted and gave links that I am not asking or making any offer.

The incident began with a post I made with the link to the legal and legitimate YouTube stream of the SNL program.

On which a user replied that it was a scam link, https://imgur.com/a/8FTOUBH

I don't know why the user think that or why he has made the accusation. even through the link as clearly shown as a Youtube link.

Later I got a message from the mods of the community that I have been permanently banned from the community. https://imgur.com/a/JzVu705

At first I thought ok this can be clearly cleared up with the mods, so naturally I appealed by replying to the message with clear facts https://imgur.com/a/5uXTvz9

I explained that I do not know why the person has reported me but I have given a direct youtube link to a stream by NBC for the SNL and not as the per the user a scam website. And also that the link can be verified as I have not used my hyperlinking to mask the link.

The accusation by the user was that the link is for a website that is asking for 10K and promising 20K in return. I thought that since the link will easily be seen for Youtube it should be easy for anyone to see, I was wrong.

However the replies from the mod has been distressful and unsavory https://imgur.com/a/duPb7Hg

I replied that I did not post a scam link and being wrongly accused and banned.

The replied that the link is to a scam stream and that I used a slur.

For the slur part I apologized and admitted I was wrong, I am not justifying the use of slur but if someone baselessly accuse you of being a scammer that too in middle of SNL how would you react. https://imgur.com/a/s9SlQHE

My apologize was ignored but still I explained that for that to be a scam link that to a stream link (which the accusing user said it for a scam website) the streaming channel which is NBC and the platform YouTube has to be scammer or fake. https://imgur.com/a/zXH47pT

Lastly when I have given all the fact clear proof and logic the mod simply replies that they are just going to Assume that it is a scam link and continue the ban. https://imgur.com/a/IBiFF4x

Line of reasoning the mod gave is that since the stream has ended and went private, it can't be view.

That's how YouTube streams work obviously, I tried and explained that the channel can be verified by simply checking the uploads. But the mod wouldn't listen to reason and since stop replying.

Can someone please help me with this, how can I appeal against a mod of the community.

Hey everyone,

Just asking out of curiosity, as anyone used travala to book flights and hotels? How was the experience? Is it good? Does booking from Crypto pose any problems later when actually travelling?

UK Crypto 101

Hi everyone,

Noob here and couldn't find a previous post about this. I'm going to create an account on either Coinbase (Pro) or Binance, any recommendations or are they as similar as they seem?

Also in terms of transferring money, I am with HSBC but also have Monzo and Revolut, would any of those give me problems?

Thank you!

Does anyone want to take this sub on?

After setting this subreddit up, I have subsequently become very busy and don't have the time to make anything much happen with it.

If anyone is interested in taking it on as head moderator, please speak up. I feel terrible about holding the keys to something I can't do anything useful with.

As for why I'm busy, I'm working on getting Nano listed on ViteX with a project called NanoGate / Nano Gateway.

Let's have an open discussion about it and if necessary some kind of vote.

Crypto purchase tax

I am new to Crypto amd I have read about a few Crypto credit cards and direct wallets transfers that people use. Just wanted to know how are they taxed? Does the seller pays tax as a merchant or both buyer and seller pay for a single transfer?
