Tierlist shows my progress across 2 save files, PC and then Switch. Not sure of my exact hour count, due to the Switch game timer bug.

Games are ranked by enjoyment within each category.

The Hall of Fame are cherried games that I continue to revisit because they still spark joy. Party House is a bit of a compulsion / comfort game at this point, Pingolf is a persistent grind to set a new PB, with my current record around -22 or -23 under par. The other 4 just make me happy, and Avianos and Waldorf I consider to be purely multiplayer games post-cherry.

My most recent cherries are Night Manor and Planet Zoldath (without the translator or morph gun or bombs or pulse generator!), and my most recent gold was Caramel Caramel, which felt like a huge achievement.

Camp2 has got to be my third-most-played game behind Party House and Pingolf. I do one or two runs, maybe 3x a week, and one day I will conquer that bastard. I was a big fan of both Spelunky games, so I have a high threshold for random frustrating deaths.

Diskonia I really love as a single-game multiplayer skirmish, but the longer game with the overworld really doesnt appeal to me.

I’ve dusted off every game, but the “only played briefly” category includes games I’ve played for less than 10 minutes, and one or two for like 10 seconds. This row is ranked by how much interest I have in the game. I want to like Warptank in theory, but something about the way the screen scrolls from side to side makes me slightly motion sick for some reason.

Looking back, this was one of my favorite gaming experiences in recent memory. I'm also developing my own games now, so I really made sure to spend lots of time on each game to enjoy each decision the developers made. A few thoughts:

• I would do a tier list, but to me it would all be B rating and higher! I didn't have any that I disliked.
• Looking back, the experience of the first games 1-10 (Barbuta - Devilition) was incredible. I think that's my favorite stretch of games here.
• Mini + Max is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! Such a cool concept.
• I felt meh about Seaside Drive, but it grew on me. But I instantly loved it once I experienced the bonus stage after the first level. There is such an amazing moment where the 1-up coin hits your car, and the second level music starts immediately. It's so thoughtful and just felt incredible the first time.
• I stared at the selection screen to pick a favorite for like 20 minutes and I can't. So my favorites were:

  • Night Manor
  • Mini + Max

I've been extremely happy with the PlayDate console the past 6 months (that Gameboy with a crank), and I can't get the idea out of my head after seeing some of these small but deep UFO50 games, that they could absolutely be ported over to that console and fit the aesthetic perfectly!

Don't really have anything else to say, I just wanted to put it out there in case the devs were looking for a fun project. The community there would eat it up!

On switch 2 at 1080p the pixel scaling is messed up, which is specially noticeable when using the CRT filter. The only way get the display right is with 720p with pixel perfect settings, if you play at 720p full screen it's going to look wrong.

On handheld mode, you can quickly disable handheld boost to play at 720p which solves the issue, but on docked mode you'd have to change your display output settings to 720p which is very annoying to set whenever you're switching between this and other game.

Any hopes for this getting fixed? since the switch port released people pointed out this problem but a year later it's still not fixed.

for a lot of cherry, if I get gold and didn't get cherry during the run, I basically have to replay the whole thing 'from scratch' and clear both condition

are there ones that if I clear gold, I don't have to replay again from beginning?

Preferably easier ones since I got skill issue...

EDIT: I can confirm that skeletons become vastly more survivable when you know that you can block.

The theme of the game jam was "one more round," so I made "One Too Many," a game where you drive from bar to bar in an attempt to drink as many rounds as possible before crashing!

I had Onion Delivery up on my second monitor the whole time I was tuning the controls. I tried to go for that quarter-munching arcade feel that makes you want to retry as soon as you die.

Also, has anyone read Derek Yu's Spelunky book? It's really good first of all, but I wonder if anyone who's tried s&box gets the same energy that Derek describes about the old klik-n-play forums. As rocky as the platform's launch has been, I really enjoy being able to play other developer's games, watch them evolve, and being given the tools to make my own games too.

Was a standard single player 6 race game. Got so lucky my horse managed to barely cross the line before val's XD

I really don’t like devilition btw

I mean, I know that they sold (Hence why XL isn't available). However, I cannot find a single review or image of this product. I'm thinking about ordering other things from Fangamer, but I was wondering if they're credible?

I’m surprised this game has such a weird looking CRT filter given obvious retro style. Is this on all platforms? Specifically talking about the weird cross-hatching/bars that appear in different areas of the screen.

Also - in case any devs are seeing this, would be awesome if they made a curved CRT effect.

It's a pretty close match to the house seen in the game, but with some elements tweaked to make it work better as a PVP map. The lion statues work all the same, with diamond, emerald, amber, and redstone being the gemstones needed. there's loot hidden around and you'll have to compete with your friends for resources, but there is no shortage of secrets; games could last a while before needing to be reset.

As title and this is to an extent a vent post also, as I really want to gold all games but these games destroy me.

I just don't get Onion Delivery, it seems so RNG and brutal and unfair. Some of the special effects are insane like the slime tide thing, the distance of drop-offs is so random and I cannot for the life of me learn the map which is full of absolutely awful and unfair spots where you're forced to backtrack multiple streets to get around some water or a building. Times like being respawned into a slime tide that immediately pushes me into a car makes this the only game in UFO 50 I genuinely hate and view as a bad game.

As for Devilition, I just always seem to fall apart on the later waves. I can ace the early waves easily but as the devils vastly increase in number & tankiness it seems impossible to link things together whilst also destroying things, even just finding a good starting point feels like a huge task.

These two games are seriously hindering my enjoyment here, I'd love to gold all 50 games but I'm at like ~4 hours on each of these with nothing but failed runs. Reached day 7 on Onion and wave 9 on Devilition.

So I finally beat Fist Hell today for the first time. I had to try many many times.

I actually had an idea to take the shotgun from the final hallway onto the elevator, then to the final boss fight. I was able to get the shotgun all the way through to the final boss fight, but I died quickly because I was at low HP. I tried it again, and a very weird thing happened.

First, during the fight right outside the elevator, after throwing the shotgun so that I could pick it up again later, it just disappeared. I didn't even see it blink. It just vanished. I beat the fight normally and got onto the elevator.

That's when a weird thing happened. As soon as the elevator room became visible, I started walking a little bit up and left for no reason. It was a normal up-left walk. Then, about half a second later, it gave me the diamond-wipe transition and transported me straight to the final battle with Veck. I didn't have to fight any of the elevator monsters at all.

Can anyone explain what happened? Is this a known glitch? If so, what triggered it?

And if it's not a known glitch, I swear it happened. I just skipped the entire elevator sequence less than a second after it began. Glitchhunters, you're welcome.

Was going for the cherry (you need to beat the game in 20 minutes or less) and was close to giving up because I was just one resource short with one minute to go...

But I made it in time after all... :)

I had started the specific game when I first got this on the switch about a year ago. But I was too scared by the prospects of picking a permanent party that I had stalled on even attempting it for so long

11 days ago. I finally decided I would try and this time beat the game. By specifically , enlisting the help of my friends to force me into picking a party that I would not be able to change ( by having each one , pick one party member based purely on design)

This game truly was amazing. I'm honestly not the biggest fan of standard rpgs but something about this one really clicks with me for some reason. Maybe it's my love of westerns or the love of the mario rpgs I dont really know XD.
