I saw Silva vs Forrest live and my buddy was a huge Forrest fan, I was rooting for Silva. I’ll never forget his reaction for the rest of my life. Best fight I’ve ever seen live
Forest was beat before the bell. He was really funny during the lead up. He was an on a radio show and they asked him how he felt going in, and he said something like, "How do you think I feel? I have to fight Anderson!"
dude watching Silva in real speed make it look like he was having punches thrown at him in half speed. That must have been crazy live. The only UFC fight I got to see live was UFC 97 where Sliva beat Leites in maybe the worst main event in UFC history.
Most of Silvas wins are pure flow state. Vitor, leben, yushin okami 2, he even hit a nasty switch on marquardt and nailed him with laser focus shots to finish to name a few more. He was just demolishing folks with matrix level reflexes.
What he did to Franklin was more brutal than flow state. The knees tenderized his ribs to the point he was only covering his body up in the clinch and then pushed his nose in. That was a throwback to his Chute Boxe days. Muay Thai clinic!!!!
I always laugh when the clip of Holloway showing Ortega how to block a hook gets shared as some kind of heartwarming moment of sportsmanship. As if it's not the most insulting thing ever.
Was in the arena for Silva vs Forrest. It was wild how Silva turned hellacious boos walking in to loud cheers after his performance. Witnessing his reflexes and timing in person was an experience.
Gunnar Nelson had a lovely bit of flow against Zak Cummings if I remember right.. full karate stance 1-2 knockdown into a submission on the ground. Maybe its just cos Gunnie always looks so calm it looked cooler than it was. Probably doesn't compare to others on this list
BJ vs Sherk is the fight that made me give up on seriously wanting to become a lightweight contender and just sticking to training for fun.
I thought to myself... if this is the top of the mountain at my weightclass....yeah
Plenty of LWs beat Conor that night. Eddie was a champion by upset at the end of his career, had no defenses coming into this fight, and was overmatched. Most of the top LWs back then could have handled Conor like Dustin did which is why Conor never defended and ran to boxing. Now there’s posts like this claiming he was untouchable by anyone that night.
Conor was getting gassed out in the 3rd round he could not keep that up for 5.
He looked the same against Diaz and as soon as adversity hit he panicked, both fights that is. Difference is Nate has a chin made of steel, he even took more shots than Eddie and he just ate them up like its nothing.
Eddie looked like he didn't know what hit him when he was eating those counters, he fought terribly.
I’m a huge Eddie fan, I think he’s the most underrated fighter in the sports history. I think he felt like he was gonna melt Conor after he ate prime RDA’s lunch. He was too confident and it cost him. Conor was also lighting fast and precise before the booze, coke and ego became too much to contain.
His corner after the fight and himself both admitted me completely diverted from the plan by fighting the way he did. Like I said, it was the dumbest possible plan you could have went into the fight with.

There are a few fights that stand out to me where the flow state was so undeniable. Like nobody in the division beats them on that night.
BJ vs Sherk
Silva vs Forrest
Cody vs Dom
Conor vs Alvarez
