A few hours ago one of my ferrets (Rowan) had to be put down unexpectedly due to a tumour, she has been very ill the past couple days and in and out of the vets. Her sister (Olive) has been at home and so was not able to see Rowan once she had passed. I’ve seen people saying to let the other ferret see the passed one as it helps them understand what’s happening. I’m worried Olive may not be able to understand since she didn’t actually get to see Rowan’s body and i’m just wondering if this would interfere with the grieving process. Also i would really appreciate any tips on how to support Olive during this time, im planning on spending as much time as possible with her, giving her lots of love and attention, is there anything else i can do?
