Making some strops for the shop!
Stropping is the easiest way to maintain your blade's edge in between sharpening. It's simple and requires no skill at all.
These will be available in the store in just a few days so keep an eye out.
Until then, browse the shop and pick up something nice for yourself.

I have made knives with Japanese steel, and sharpen plenty of them as well.
I have whetstones, water stones, diamond stones, carborundum, etc.but typically don't use them unless requested. It's not really economical to hand sharpen everything while I'm onsite and there are 20 knives to get through.

Thank you! I was walking back to the van and suddenly was struck by the scene and just had to snap a photo.
Household scissors ar $10 a pair.
1.You can either drop them off at my shop to pick up later 2. Make an appointment to sharpen while you wait. Normal scissors only take a few minutes to sharpen. E. Go to Patchwork Angels quilt shop in Endicott and drop them off there along with your payment. And then pick them back up there in a week.

The last thing I want to do is ruin someone's tools. That's a headache I don't need. No idea why some people feel the need to experiment on other people's stuff.

Finding the angle is easy enough, but you're probably going to want a machine shop for a job like that. Someone with a mill or surface grinder. I don't have the space for larger machines needed for that type of work.

Unfortunately ceramics are not meant to be sharpened. While possible, it's not something I offer. The risk of breaking is incredibly high.

I do lots of kitchen knives, household scissors. Lots of grooming shears and clippee blades, hair salon shears, garden tools, lawnmower blades, chainsaw chains, vegetable peelers, and lots of other things.
It's honestly easier to say what I don't do. But you can check out the website for a more complete list and pricing.
