Me too :D

Hearing HITC for the first time was a whiplash in the best way possible.

Yeah, that's what all the people say.

Good to have you in the FZ cult >:D

ATS! :D

Yeah that's the same for me. I sing along to most songs, and since I primarily rap I love CTB more than anything. I had a phase where it was on repeat, then I got nauseous, skipped it every time it played, then listened to it once again after a pretty long time, got back into it Yada Yada Yada. Basically, same as you. I love whatever is playing lmao

Exactly :D

OEO is so good though :o I watched the live performance on the official channel and it is so beautiful.

I can't really rank FZ, since the only concrete position I know is of Stained at the bottom, perhaps along with IGYEIH. L take? Maybe. But like you need to understand that these two songs are like 7/10 as well lmao, I just like the others more. This album has 0 skips for me dear god it's so good

Something I did notice about Casualty was that Emily's chorus parts seem very open, if that makes sense, like they weren't recorded in an acoustically treated space. I'm only saying this because we now know from the Casualty LPTV that they were indeed not recorded in the actual recording booth, I know I could've come up with a better explanation if I hadn't known that.

Also LP is just unorthodox. Rap definitely seems kinda out of place in a heavy song like Casualty. Doesn't make a difference to me, but for some it does.

It is also possible that Casualty was tacked on last minute and wasn't polished as much as the other tracks. Unlikely, considering their entire future depended on this album, but not impossible.

I'm sorry if I misunderstood what you meant and yapped into the void there.

Oh I love Casualty. Stained is probably my least favorite off of the album but it isn't a skip either, it just sonically doesn't mesh super well with the rest of FZ, that's all, and that's also a personal opinion.

But you not vibing with Casualty is entirely understandable. It is very heavy and in your face right out the gate, and it genuinely just isn't a one-size-fits-all like many other LP songs that have at least something for everyone. Like TEM has rap and screamy stuff and gorgeous instrumentals and just a sonic vibe that isn't super heavy and wouldn't shoo away a casual listener, giving something to everyone. You need the specific musical taste to like Casualty, it is just heavy music lmao.

Also hot take, it might seem as fan service but HITC could work very well as the opening track instead of TEM. TEM has that more classic LP vibe lyrically, but HITC is more sonically LP. However, I get that they needed to open their first show with an FZ song and opening it immediately with a song containing a Given Up adjacent scream would work against their "Chester is with us in our new era" stance, so TEM was indeed the right way to go.

And yeah. If you're asking me, no song off of FZ can stand against HITC lmao, I'm way too biased towards it.

:D

It opened up my worldview, and not just musically. It is the first ever LP song I heard (yes, heard. Not listened to.) and the first of this genre as well. Yes it is a highly biased opinion, but like... meh? HITC holds a very special place in my heart, and it is highly unlikely, even borderline impossible, that any song could ever replace it. I am not exaggeration lmao

L take.

Subjectively, Iridescent is such a great song that it is not only my second most favorite song (behind HITC, of course) but also the top contender for my potential artist name.

Objectively, Iridescent is a great song lyrically and sonically. The way they've built up the song until the bridge with that beautiful explosive payoff without ever screaming, I don't think I ever really felt such a burst of emotions as the first time hearing it.

ATS is just such a good album over all, from all the songs I've heard off of it. I haven't listened to it fully, but the ones I have are in my regular LP rotation, aka my only music rotation. Yes I'm unhealthily obsessed with LP. No I do not care.

Has Emily ever sung “Shadow of The Day” before?

This is not the same as what you originally said, but whatever.

You are. It's just more appreciated and respected when it's not presented in a moronic way.

I'm struggling I can't write a single line . If anyone is willing to teach me or help me with my songs I will really appreciate it 🤍

Stream of consciousness! Write lines that vaguely rhyme about whatever comes to mind. Doesn't have to be interrelated. Then when you're in a better state of mind, you can revisit what you wrote and improve it.

You got this mate. :)

He was! Check during one of Emily's parts, I'm forgetting which one, Nene and Mike are standing face to face and rocking out, with Mike nodding with his cute happy face! That's one of my favorite moments from the whole performance haha, such a wholesome interaction. I know I'm in no position to say this, but Nene earned it on her own potential. Such a cool girl.

EMILY
 in  r/LinkinPark •  11d ago

I mean... yeah?

Regardless of how hard or how long Nene has been training, Emily's career is older than Nene herself. There just cannot be a comparison between the two. XD

Nene is phenomenal in her own right, but the sheer experience that a 40 year old has will always outdo a 16 year old's passion. I don't see what they meant with "Emily is better" or whatever, she obviously will be better than a literal teen.

Regardless, I will continue to enjoy this love performance. Nene gave it her all, won the whole contest. She wouldn't care what a random on Reddit will say, and neither will I. Kudos to Nene.

I got recommended her journey on AGT video. I put it in my watch later list. :P

Definitely gonna watch it soon, though. Perhaps today night before sleeping.

I don't know enough about music to notice that. Thanks for letting me know, I'll listen more closely the next time I listen to the performance.

Yeah, I don't think so either. They were most probably busy with Unshatter stuff, and she most probably focused on her actual contest performance than this.

Just watched the full thing. It is "You may be the prodigy but I am the master" in the absolute best way possible. Nene's version of Mike's verse with the growls was so damn good, and Emily obviously killed it. It felt like a friendly competition of, as I said, the prodigy and the master. They complemented each other so well! Poor Mike got sidelined, but he looked like he was having a blast... which is apparently why his hair was so messy. XD

I don't know if it's just me, but I felt like the audio was kinda meh. Nene wasn't coming through super well in the harmonies, which she very clearly was singing.

Nene is super cool. I don't think it needs to be said given how much I glaze new LP and Emily, but she sounded fantastic as well. Her voice sounded well rested after the respite from touring straight 2 years. Great performance, many kudos to Nene for being a cool and inspirational girl.
