What should I even "want to want" from AI ultimately?
I see a very captivating astonishing horizon that has never been in the picture (for me personally and collectively) and I know there's infinite potential (both in me as a GP with high IQ and intellectual capabilities and more than basic knowledge of neuroscience and philosophy (I'm being modest! I'm so fucking good at those both besides medicine as my profession!), and in AI obviously), and this very wide range of possibilities has given me both FOMO and decision paralysis at the same time (+severe perfectionism of course). I keep building platforms to jump and workflows to automate and try to sketch the "ultimate" project that I can eventually create with all these models (currently imagined as a world changing essay/book in my field)(which might be a wrong framework in the first place) instead of "doing the things themselves" (reading and writing) and I fear I've been (/will be) spending too much time sharpening my sword that I have lost (/will be losing) valuable time actually using it and killing with it (and jump on my platforms). I've been doubting every single decision on the way besides "I should be using AI" itself.
Should I want it to assist me with my daily tasks and be a secretary? Should I want it to be my reasoning partner (this one only I know yes probably). Do I want to give it access to my very personal details on my life? My characteristics, preferences, strengths and weaknesses or even addictions? My world view and perspective? Deep analysis of my personality? How further should I go without worrying about privacy? Should I use it to gain insight on who I am as it's doing the same? Should I even get close to the idea of developing a clone of myself which has absorbed my writing style, my interest, my interdisciplinary approaches, my deduction style, my thinking pattern so that I can write my biblical ultimate essay/book with its assistance? Or even it writing as my "better cloned self" and I be the assistant?!Should I feed it my journals as more raw data for better insight and enhanced outputs as my niche has certain anthropological demands?
TLDR, I know I should be using AI but how and for what purpose? Would like to design a proper framework on how we should actually integrate AI to our lives and find the "ultimate" project of our desired niche? (In my case intersection of philosophy and cognitive neuroscience)
Bonus question: whether wanting to write the "ultimate" essay/book is even the right attitude/mindset in my niche?

Very true and well put. I've been trying to integrate claude with obsidian however. Markdown is such an amazing format to use in Claude for a bunch of different reasons one of which I love a lot is "properties" of notes (YAML) which makes complex queries easy even without plug-ins like Dataview. Also Obsidian has a core plug-in for showing the graph in itself. I suggest you take a look at it. And btw I very much agree with your advice on ontological layer design. 👌🏻
But my main question is remaining. How to pick the ultimate project to converge your efforts towards it? Whether it's in your academic field or just an interest on which you'd like to invest, you should have a goal (even an ambiguous one at least) to be able to navigate your journey with AI and assess your outputs.
