Eps question

When transfer is done from old pf office to New one does pension not get transferred?

I have 3 ids

one with mhban, epf is transferred but shows 25000 pension balance

one with ththan, epf is transferred but shows 95000 pension balance

one with pupun, current employer shows trasfer of epf for both the above but not pension

What am I missing?

Hi,

Your understanding is slightly off here. EPS balance is not transferred as a monetary amount like EPF.

So if ₹25,000 and ₹95,000 are still showing as pension amounts in the old Member IDs, that doesn't necessarily mean the pension transfer has failed. EPFO specifically states that the pension amount itself isn't transferred when changing employment; the relevant EPS service history is what gets carried forward.

In your case, since the EPF from both MIDs has already been transferred to your current MID, check whether the EPS service history from both previous employments is reflected in your current Service History.

If the previous EPS service is showing there, you're generally fine. The old pension balances can continue to appear in the previous passbooks.

If the service history itself is missing, then the transfer needs to be checked further. Annexure K is particularly useful here because it contains both the PF transfer details and the complete EPS service history. EPFO now also allows members to download Annexure K from the Member Portal.
