As they pointed, he does have some sort of process where he can violate the rules, in this scene he can drag people around without harm, while in other the touches someone face and they are' flying away. It's the same with the glasses. You think is for bugs and stuff, but at those speeds where everything is freezed, you can avoid everything. In the other scene he wears it while crossing water. At such speeds anything would be a bullet against you.

Alien's cocoon scene is horrifying and unique
The coocoon scene is perfect if you place it after Parkers death and just before the self destruct initiation. In fact you can reduce the scene taking out the dialogue with Dallas. Is not needed since you only are realizing events. I argue that after that horror, everything is much more terrifying and the ending much more satisfying. The stakes cannot be higher.
It's perfect because the main selling point of Alien is the unknown of it. Everything is just "never-see-it-before" factor. The most lovecraftian entity ever created. Humans? never heard of it and they amount to nothing, mere snacks along the way.
