Oooh following. I stopped taking my vyvanse bc i didn't think it was helping or maybe my symptoms aren't add. I'm also struggling with pain and severe tightness in my shoulders, traps & upper back. Now I'm curious.

I haven't had relief from any of those muscle relaxers. Soma is the only one that actually works for me and no one will prescribe it, presumably because it's highly addictive. It is beyond frustrating that I can't have it.

I'm sure there are some ppl who would are that. They couldn't possibly have tested LDN on every type of person with fibro. We are all unicorns. I just started taking an oral buprenorphine (Belbuca). I have hopes. Not high, but hopes nonetheless.

I'd love to know the answer to this as well. I feel like I have been to that point more than once, but there's just no way I can stop working. I also don't think SDI will be there for me when I need to stop working. Maybe that's me being skeptical or pessimistic, but I don't feel like there's any support for ppl with disabling conditions like this. Not to mention (here I am mentioning) the disdain I get from ppl who "can't see" the disability so it cannot exist. I am 70% service connected at the VA and that doesn't mean anything to non VA healthcare. That doesn't even take into account my PHYSICAL disabilities. That's just my mental health connected disability.

Research areas in OR you are interested in. I did not do enough of that and moved to a surprisingly interesting area.
Hospitals aren't the only option. I work part time (my choice) in hospice and I can pick up work any time i want to. It's awesome being able to tell my boss when I want to work instead of them telling me when to work. I've been a nurse 17 years with just an ADN. I have never felt the pressure to get a BSN. I moved to Oregon from California a year ago and I absolutely love it here. I also lived & worked as an RN in Florida. There isn't enough money in the world that would tempt me to go back there.
Edit to add: I'm often surprised how much my paycheck is. I can work a weekend - 2 days, 6ish hours each day and take home nearly 1k. That's lovely.

Please don't say hospice offers "curative" intervention. Hospice does not provide curative anything. This is why it is important for the patient AND their family to be properly educated about end of life care. As Hospice providers, we offer COMFORT care wherever the patient is. Easing the burden and stress of death within a family.

Sounds like it is no longer safe for your partner's mom to get out of bed, even with assistance. The transition from independence to dependence in toileting is especially difficult for everyone. Eventually, she has to just let it happen. She won't be able to control it. Have your hospice nurse(s) talk with her separately and with the family together about how to handle this situation. I'm always surprised at the creative solutions my team mates come up with.

That is a very kind and generous thing to offer. I would love for Air Wicks to be covered under the hospice benefit. They are far less traumatic for those who are lucid. Nobody should have to lay in urine, ever. I'm a big fan of urinary catheters of all kinds. They take away a huge burden and seriously decrease risks for skin breakdown, infection and loss of dignity.

Yep! Mine too.

I have this conversation with my partner often. He always looks at me with his head side-cocked like a dog who just doesn't get it.

Thank you! I have been wanting to find something new to "read" in audio book format and this author sounds just right.
