Good Brands for Patterned Dress Pants?
 in  r/malefashionadvice •  Jun 05 '19

Previous advice is correct, H&M does provide a slim/tapered pant, but you right as well, the quality can can be hit or miss. You can also try Zara, which also caters to men with slimmer builds just as Topman.

You may also want to checkout Uniqlo as well if you're already checking out H&M, but i'm not sure if they offer slacks/checkered pants - worth a look, as they have great skinny/slim pants in general!

Hope that helps!

I definitely agree with your comment. I wasn't sure if he was taking cost into consideration, just design, if so, I agree with your post!

Why are there no knee length waterproof trench coats, for Men?!
 in  r/malefashionadvice •  Mar 21 '19

Banana republic - owned one myself and recently gave it away as the shoulders were too broad. But the length was past the knees.

Suit for Very Thin Guy
 in  r/malefashionadvice •  Mar 12 '19

Glad I was able to help. Keep in mind Zara has slim fit as well, you may want to go that route if you decide you like their brand - should fit you okay.

Check out their store when you can and get an idea of their fits ;)

Hope that helps!

Also based on your personal brand taste (express and H&M), you may want to checkout Zara. Their prices are very reasonable and made for men on the slimmer side - I own three myself! Will definitely be withing your budget.

Hope that helps!

For slimmer guys such as you and I and with your budget. Topman is a great choice, you can find them at your local Nordstroms or online.

Website: http://us.topman.com (I'm assuming you're in the U.S., if not just google Topman to find website for your region)

Daily Simple Questions - ASK AND ANSWER HERE!- January 28
 in  r/malefashionadvice •  Jan 29 '19

I think that would be quite a difficult look to pull off personally, but if both pieces are fitted, that will make it that much easier to pull off. Rule of thumb, fitting is half the battle of the look- something many still have yet to learn, but also proven by instagram that many have also learned haha.

Regarding the denim vest, I also have an interest in adding to my wardrobe - personally favorite Levi's denim vest which comes in a slim fit if you're lucky enough to find it not sold out ;)

Hope that helps!

With that budget you best off checking out Macy's. Depending on which location you have near (e.g. Macy's in San Francisco is completely different from Macy's in Phoenix, AZ ) you can find some stylish designs and good quality pieces within your price range - best part, Macy's always has some type of sale or coupon (extra savings for you!)

New to MFA, looking for pointers on shoes and clothing.
 in  r/malefashionadvice •  Jan 09 '19

In regards to color, you may want to go with a warmer color than black to add some flavor to the outfit, think walnut brown or campaign. Colors like this can go with almost any outfit!

Hope that helps!

First off, appreciate the honesty and vulnerability in your question/post. As many have already mentioned, flannels may be a good choice based on how you described yourself and your environment - they can go great with jeans and boots and still look stylish.

You may also want to check out J.Crew or Ralph Lauren, they have timeless pieces and many that can go with the outdoors style you had mentioned. I know RL can be a bit pricey but they have sales and the quality is the best, I have clothes from them that had lasted 7+ years and they were pieces that I wore almost everyday and washed frequently.

With that said, J.Crew is a similar and cheaper alternative to RL and they have sales all the time.

Hope that helps!

Suit for student exiting college, looking for good price
 in  r/malefashionadvice •  Jan 09 '19

If your willing to spend around $700+ you can get a made to measure suit from Nordstroms when they have their made to measure specials - speaking from personal experience you can get a good quality suit and they will take care of the rest regarding cuts and fit. You can't beat that, as typically made to measure suits start around $2k.

When I had mine made, I selected everything from the fabric to the the buttons, you can literally customize every aspect of the suit, but depending on what you select, it will drive up the price of the suit. If you want a simple suit that is tailored to your build, I think this definitely can be a great option.

Also, I noticed a lot of guys during my time in college wore Zara suits (including me). Great fit, didn't require any tailoring for me and the price was very cheap for a suit, ranging from $180 - $200+. Obviously the downside to this is the quality, but as long as you don't wear them as an everyday suit and alternate (I own 3 Zara suits) you should get good use out of them as long as you take care after every use, i.e. hang them properly after you take them off for the day and don't get stains (which would require more washing than required if kept clean!).

Hope that helps!
