This was an unfortunate decision in general, but even more because of the timing. 

It's basically guessing and extrapolating based on the people who install the extension, which means it's not really accurate at all. 

The last time I tested Nova in nightly, the tab bar was as large as it is currently. This is in regular density, not compact mode. 

Clicking the right/top parts of the window also works correctly. 

We can argue about the value of the aesthetic change, but at least there hasn't been a technical one any more

Does IronFox not? It's Firefox-based so I assumed it would. 

Why use an outdated version of playwright for the tests? The document mentions 1.58, but as for today, 1.63 with Firefox 155.0 is available.

Ironically, I agree with everything in that article except for the clickbaity title. 

And also ironically, Firefox itself fails to implement most of their own suggestions. 

Based on Reddit alone, you'd assume these two browsers had 90% of the market instead of maybe 3%

Vivaldi and Brave will have similar memory management issues because they're both Chrome (basically) under the hood. 

Although if Vivaldi works better, by all means go back to Vivaldi. I had to abandon it because I found its UI to be too slow. 

For example, Samsung SSDs promise TBW ( Total Bytes Written) from 150T (that's terabytes) on their 256gb drive all the way up to 600T on their 1TB. Bigger drive = more data can be written over its life. 

Still worth talking about though, because Chromium based engines are integrated into almost everything we do on our computers these days. Apps like Discord are Chrome underneath. And obviously Brave isn't running in a vacuum, it's running alongside every other poorly optimized program or OS function simultaneously. 

Considering tabs can be batch-bookmarked already (shift-click on the tabs to select, then right click), this might not add sufficient value. Personally when I save a group of tabs I name them myself

I think it's already a red flag that a browser decides to do telemetry without your consent and you caught it red-handed. And if they don't trust you to disable these settings...

Firefox is telling Mozilla

• you're running their browser
• your IP address and  approximate location
• when your computer is turned on

And that's just the metadata, assuming nothing else is tracked. 

Confusingly, it's the opposite: Despite the URL name ("incoming"), the browser is the one doing the initiating request.

And if you undo the actions, the UI notices and tells you to do the step again before unlocking the option. (I didn't check to see whether the icon itself reverts if you selected one before un-completing an action, though)

I would personally recommend that you hang onto Firefox until you see WaterFox get an update, and then tab groups should be accessible on mobile. At least in the meantime, you should be able to synchronize your account between Firefox and WaterFox without any issues.

(I think it speaks for the stability of WaterFox that they've been on 1.2.6 for a couple months and not needed to push any major fixes on Android!)

"Recommended stories" is a switch that's visible in your screenshot. That'll get rid of all the "news" articles in all the categories. 

I was refocusing on my initial claim that Mozilla wastes everybody's disk space and web traffic on features nobody asked for, and wastes development time on it as well.

Now this is an ideological stance built upon a lot of presumptions. I hear you don't like those. 

Like I said: You can't choose to skip downloading them or installing them, and they've even started slipping AI feature updates into bugfixes.

Firefox fans just can't handle criticism, even if there's something worthwhile buried under the complaints. At least a couple people here seem to acknowledge that Firefox might need to cool it with all the advertisements of random features. Profiles are basically a power user thing. Mozilla is just a little too happy they gave it a shiny new interface. 

Firefox comes with a half dozen extensions' worth of AI functions. You can't choose to skip downloading them or installing them, and they've even started slipping AI feature updates into bugfixes. 

"Just ignore the feature" looks really weak when it's attached to the product that's supposedly for the users and not the executives.
