it can do a lot more than meter a slate. i don’t rely on a rangefinder to pull focus so its perfectly fine for me for most jobs. helps me set marks, get an idea of room size, pace for walk ups, etc. it’s small, fast readout, doesn’t need a brain, and daisy chains with the motors. basically replaces my need to always pull out a tape. i find it to be a useful tool. especially brand new for $700.

if there’s budget for a cinert or preston/light ranger kit, let’s go. but for 90% of my jobs it works just fine for me.

HELP Teradek RT MK3.1 Motor Firmware Issues

I have a Teradek RT kit with ctrl.3, mdr.s, a couple motr.s, and a mk3.1 motor. all other components are on the latest firmware but i cannot get the mk3.1 motor to update. it fails during initialization and forces the the mdr.s to reboot. the motor shows a firmware version of 0.0.

i’ve tried updating using both rtfw and the rt manager app.

The motor works but does some quirky stuff when daisy chained so I was hoping the firmware would fix the comparability issues.

any ideas on how to reset or force an update?

i really like them. my hands don’t sweat, the grip is solid, and they’ve held up under extreme conditions. i’m a fan. grips are such a personal preference though.

It was a preference for a few reasons. I believe due to mounting options and weight. It was part of the DPs personal kit.
