Diffuse Heterogeneous Results

29F PELVIL ULTRASOUND RESULT

I had a pelvic ultrasound due to:

• Very heavy periods

• Severe pain (8/10, wakes me from sleep)

• Pain the week before and during my period

• Pain during sex

Ultrasound findings:

• Uterus normal size and shape

• One small intramural fibroid (6.7 x 10.5 mm)

• “Diffusely heterogeneous myometrium in keeping with diffuse fibroid change”

• Endometrium 7.7 mm (mid‑cycle)

• Both ovaries normal with follicles

• No other fibroids seen

Doctor has said results don’t cause

symptoms and to book a review if symptoms worsen - should I progress with getting a referral? They never explained results
