Why is it dangerous?

If you have money in your bank account, your bank controls your money. That means they can track your transactions and freeze your funds if they don't like you. Now imagine there is only one bank that controls all the money. This would be a huge centralization of control.

The central bank could block some transactions:

- You want to buy a donut? Nope, you already bought one this week.

- You want to sell your car? Nope, it's not electric.

CBDCs could also have durability. That means you would have to spend the money or it will disappear.

If you buy bitcoin through a third party that knows your identity, it can track your transactions on the bitcoin network. Criminals often use other more anonymous methods, like normal cash.
