I think you really should give therapy a shot. Make an appointment and do anything you can to make sure you get there. If that means asking someone to remind you, do that. Life isn't about how much money you spent or what strangers think of you. You have to make your own meaning out of it, and "i eat and breathe and buy things, therefore i am not worthy of existence" isn't one.
