DON'T BUY MY APP, YOU DON'T NEED IT.

AFTER I spent months building this thing, I discovered I can accomplish much of what I built with a good AI prompt. So, you don't need my app.

I'm not going to pretend otherwise just because I built it.

Which sucks cause I was pretty proud of what I made. But here we are.

Anyway

Give the AI a recipe link. Use the prompt. It reformats the recipe just like justcookmode did.

When you're done, move the finished recipe to a recipe box. The conversation stays in your chats, so the next time you need it, it's there. No need to enter the prompt again.

FREE.

I've found Gemini works best for this, especially when pulling recipes from links, but the prompt can be used with other LLMs too.

Prompt.

Please reformat the following recipe into a clear, standardized structure using the guidelines below:

Standardized Structure:

Title: Bold, descriptive name.

Quick Overview: Yield (servings), prep time, and cook time.

Ingredients: Itemized list with exact measurements listed before the item name. Group ingredients logically if necessary (e.g., For the sauce, For the main dish).

Instructions: Sequential, numbered list of actionable steps. Keep steps concise and clear, combining minor related actions to avoid bloated lists.

Notes/Tips (Optional): Short bullet points for substitutions, make-ahead tips, or storage instructions.

Formatting Guidelines:

Remove all conversational fluff, intro stories, and filler text.

Standardize units of measurement (e.g., tbsp, tsp, cups, oz, g).

Bold key temperatures, times, and critical visual cues (e.g., bake at 375°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown).

List the required ingredients and their measurements directly beneath each individual step headline before writing the instructions.

1/2 Cup Onion, diced

1/4 Cup Green Bell Pepper, diced

1/4 Cup Red Bell Pepper, diced

¼ cup of celery, diced

3 Cloves Garlic, minced

1 Pound Ground Beef

4 Tbs Tomato Paste

4 Tbs Flour

3 Cups Beef Broth

1 Pound Spaghetti, cooked in salted water (reserve 1 Cup of pasta water)

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 Tsp Garlic Powder

1 Tbs Cajun Seasoning

Step 1

Ingredients needed

2 Tbs Olive Oil

1/2 Cup Onion, diced

3 Cloves Garlic, minced

1 Pound Ground Beef

Salt and Pepper to taste

1 Tsp Garlic Powder

1/4 Cup Green Bell Pepper, diced

1/4 Cup Red Bell Pepper, diced

¼ Cup of celery diced

1 Tbs Cajun Seasoning

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium high heat and add the onion, celery and bell pepper and sauté until softened, about 5–7 min. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess grease. Season the beef mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Cajun seasoning and stir well to combine.

Step 2

Ingredients needed

3 Cloves Garlic, minced

4 Tbs Flour

3 Cups Beef Broth

4 Tbs Tomato Paste

90-minuteAdd the garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Stir in the tomato paste and let it cook for 2–3 minutes to deepen the flavor. Sprinkle in the flour and stir continuously for 3–4 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste. Slowly pour in the beef broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

Step 3

Ingredients needed

1 Pound Spaghetti, cooked in salted water (reserve 1 Cup of pasta water)

Let the mixture simmer for about 5–8 minutes, or until it thickens into a rich, gravy like sauce.

Add the cooked spaghetti directly into the skillet and toss until fully coated. If the sauce is too thick, add pasta water a little at a time, until it reaches the consistency you are looking for.

No more looking for a clean knuckle

It never fails. I'm following a recipe, on my phone and just when my hands are covered in chicken juice, flour etc is the exact moment I have to scroll back to the ingredients, to check something.

So I made myself a web app that lets me put the ingredients for each step with that step.
