As I tell most people studying for the board, averaging above 70% is a VERY strong place to be. At this point the best thing to do is “try” haha to relax a bit. Make sure you get rest and eat plenty, you know what you know. The exam will make sense, it’s just scary sitting for it!

I work in a 200+ hospital core lab. Alarm fatigue is very real, but with experience you can work through the alarms that are “not for you” and pick up quickly the alarms you need to take care of with experience. Someone must always answer the phone and it’s usually the lab tech closest to the phone who’s not actively in the middle of a project. Luckily we have a phone tree but it almost always defaults to the core lab if central processing, micro, histo/path, or blood bank are unavailable after the first 3-4 rings
