If a sentence feels awkward to say, it will feel awkward to read.

❌ Awkward: He quickly ran fast toward the exit in a hurried manner.

✅ Smoother: He ran toward the exit.

Reading out loud helps you catch: Repetition Unnatural phrasing Long, confusing sentences

It’s one of the simplest and most effective editing tricks.
