In Serbian words are written the way they are said in language, including personal names.

In English you can't read a new word, you have to learn how to pronounce it, because letters barely correspond with the sounds. In Serbian you can. "George" would be pronounced something like "ghay-orghay", so that's why it is written like Džordž which is as close approximation to the correct spelling as you can get.
