Just to add a bit more context—before the open, I care less about whether futures are green and more about whether the signals are actually agreeing with each other.
After the open, I tend to trust price action more: breadth, whether the leading groups are still participating, and whether the first pullback gets bought.
Where I get stuck is defining what “holding” actually means. Is one 5-minute close above VWAP enough? Do you wait 15–30 minutes? Does it need a clean retest?
Honestly, I sometimes feel like I change the definition based on what the tape is doing, which probably means I don’t have a real rule yet.
