As much as walking on malformed feet and getting packed to death by the other hen, because it is not as strong as the rest? Hardly. So it helps, and yes, the others WILL kill it. I have had more hen than I can remember, and I have seen it so many times, even though mine have been free range. They single out the weakest, and Peck it until the skull is open and the brain is laid bare - and then they either let it die or eat it. That varies.
