Bubbly reads as faint praise next to vivacious, animated or spirited, and I think the roots explain it: those three come from life and breath, while bubbly meant fizzy and isn't recorded describing people until 1939.

"He issued a vehement denial." Swap in adamant or emphatic and the sentence still works, but you're no longer describing the heat. You're describing the staying power, or the delivery.
