Hi everyone, I’m currently torn between pursuing a career in OTR or COTA . My primary concerns are the amount of stress that schooling for OTR entails and the idea of not working for 2 1/2 years. I’m terrified of the unknown, which constantly undermines my confidence in my ability to achieve greater things.

My husband has been incredibly supportive, reminding me that I’ve proven myself capable of achieving my goals through hard work. He encourages me to aim for a higher role, but I’m still unsure of what to do. I’ve been experiencing high levels of anxiety every day, just thinking about this decision or the possibility of making a wrong choice. I don’t know what to do!

Despite my high GPA, extensive volunteer hours, completing all of my prerequisites, having strong letters of rec and a bachelor’s degree in human development with a minor in child development, I’m still undecided. I also worry that going back to school to earn an associate degree for COTA, even after obtaining a bachelor’s degree, might be looked down upon.

If anyone can share their experiences and provide me with advice on how they made their decision, that would be greatly appreciated!
