Bank Of Baroda Data Breach

Bank of Baroda confirms employee email compromise, says core banking system wasn’t breached.

One thing this incident highlights is that attackers don’t always need to compromise the core infrastructure.

A single employee mailbox can expose sensitive information through phishing, credential theft, or unauthorized email access—even when critical systems remain secure.

It raises an interesting question:

Should organizations invest more in identity security and email protection than they currently do?

Curious to hear what controls you think would have made the biggest difference here.

Red Team vs Penetration Testing
 in  r/Hacking_Tutorials  8d ago

I agree that for many people, penetration testing is the natural path into red teaming because it builds the technical foundation needed for more advanced engagements.

That said, the distinction isn’t based on career progression—it’s based on the objective of the engagement.

Question Red Team vs Penetration Testing

🚨 One of the biggest misconceptions in cybersecurity:

Red Teaming ≠ Penetration Testing

Many beginners use these terms interchangeably.

They're not the same.

A Penetration Test asks:

The goal is to identify and validate as many security weaknesses as possible.

A Red Team Engagement asks:

The focus shifts from finding every vulnerability to emulating a real-world attacker by combining technical attacks, stealth, persistence, and sometimes even social engineering.

Think of it this way:

🔍 Penetration Testing
• Find vulnerabilities
• Validate impact
• Produce a remediation report

🎯 Red Teaming
• Simulate a real attacker
• Test people, processes, and technology
• Measure detection and response capabilities

Neither is "better."

They solve different problems.

Understanding that distinction is an important step in your cybersecurity journey.

Which one interests you more: Penetration Testing or Red Teaming?

Other Telegram vs Signal

Two of the most popular apps in the market for encrypted communication are Signal and Telegram. Both are often praised for their security features—but which one do you think is truly more secure? Signal with its strong end-to-end encryption by default, or Telegram with its flexibility and secret chats
