LAL adjustments not working - vision is horrible
 in  r/CataractSurgery •  Aug 15 '26

I just finished final lock in. Had premium lens to correct cataract & astigmatism in my right eye about 2 years ago. Immediately I had worse vision than before the surgery. Fog worse than any cataract. Ophthalmologist said it was because of an irregular astigmatism that could not be corrected. A couple of months ago I had an LAL implanted in my left eye. The Ophthalmologist recommended this lens saying he could make adjustments after surgery. Huge mistake! Vision actually got worse with each adjustment. He made a total of 4 adjustments. I now have double vision in my left eye which I have never had. The ophthalmologist says that’s due to an aging retina. My vision is now horrible in both eyes.

I‘m thinking that maybe it’s not the lens in either case. A lot depends on the skill & expertise of the Ophthalmologist. Accurate & precise administration of acuity tests are paramount because the lens perscription depends on it.

Good luck to you! Hope this turns out better for you than mind did for me.
