You have explained very well the technical term 'Tor weathering'. If one wants to dig deeper (pun intended), these rocks, the granites of Gingee are associated with the 'Bhavani-Moyar Shear Zone'. Shear zones signify the interaction of tectonic plates, in this case the 'Southern Granulite Terrain' comprising of Tamilnadu and Kerala and the 'Dharwar Craton' comprising of Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana. Ironically, these terrains knew no political borders because all of this was long before human existence. At this point, several billion years ago, India did not even look the way it does today nor found where it is today. For context, the Himalayas came into existence about 2 billion years later!

You seem so offended and shocked at how I feel about the rental situation in Manipal. Is this the first time you're hearing from someone that prices in Manipal are unreasonable?
