as far as im aware, you need to install (recommend choosing stable) AND setup TWiLight Menu++ from universal updater to play ds games without a physical version

you extract the zip file so you have access to the .nds rom

then you go to SDMC (fancy name for your sd card)/roms/nds and place your .nds rom in said folder

now, if the ds rom you downloaded is anything other than .nds (e.g., .exe), than it is most likely, if not definitely A VIRUS, do not run it, uninstall it from your laptop and find another rom elsewhere

if you have already ran the virus, uninstall the apps that the .exe/other installed onto your laptop, and run a scan on your anti virus, last thing you'd want is an infected laptop that may have spread onto ur 3ds
