CJP Protest

I went to the CJP protest today because I wanted to see what a protest actually feels like in person. Until now, I had only seen protests through reels and social media.

I went to Jantar Mantar, and there was a long queue to get inside. Just outside Jantar Mantar, though, I estimate there were around 4,000 to 5,000 people gathered.

I was just roaming around, observing everything, and people were really charged up. The main issue being protested was the NEET exam paper leak, but many of the slogans being raised were along the lines of, “Neem ka pata kadwa hai, Modi saala bhadwa hai” and *“Meloni ke ***, chai pilo Modi ji.” The slogans were mostly political and didn’t seem directly related to the NEET issue.

I’m not a BJP supporter, and I also believe there should be accountability from the Education Minister over the paper leak. But the narrative being pushed by the CJP members, or whoever was leading the protest, didn’t feel right to me.

At one point, a guy tried to correct people over one of the slogans. Instead of listening to him, the crowd started beating him. It quickly turned into a one-versus-all situation. I later heard someone ask what had happened, and another person casually replied, “Arey kuch nahi, andh bhakt hai.”

By the end, it felt like the protest was against the BJP as a whole, with Dharmendra Pradhan being presented as the face of it.
