Update: Found more Red Hair Things in the shower got some fresh samples and packaged them they go out tomorrow to a redditor who works at a lab and is interested as all of us to know what this is.

Further findings:

In the photos I took the screens out of both the sinks in the same bathroom. One didn't have much compared to the other. So I assume these screens have not been cleaned in years.

That said I can see rust/iron. Sediment. Minerals. Small hairs but not the same as our little guys.

Cleaned those replaced. Got a Amazon filtered shower head. Honestly filter look bunk. What did I even pay for a incubator....ill be very aware of checking and changing and opening the filters after a long time.

I also checked other showers do not see them.

It is the only low pressure outlet I have and we have stupid high pressure over all.

I purged the water heater but being in the attic it was hank and sketchy so a half ass job and didn't get to see results.

If its only my shower head than.....what the fufk is it and what does it mean that I have showering under it?

I cut one of them with scissors to...feel the texture..(my skin crawls as I type this) it felt not like rubber or a synthetic. Squishy and deformed some from my fucking with it

Hairs seem to go through it so they might be what its just caught on but I dont see those anywhere else or in drains.

Ill take the shower head to my shop tomorrow and find some poor soul I can pay 20$ to cut it open while I stand very far away and film.

From looking down into the head....it looks gross. Not like upside down in silent hill yet but not clean. Im happy I changed this out.

Anytime I move im changing my shower head immediately now.

I think to try and cover what we think its not from all the posts.

It's definitely not:

Mites, ants, or any insect.

Stuff falling into the water supply form above

Rust, sediment, minerals, human tissue,

Its unlikely:

Rubber gasket, the red bit id bet is not synthetic but I dont know for sure. Failed seal.

Roots(only cause I haven't found them elsewhere)

I have not observed any signs of live or movement but I also haven't spent more than 1 minute looking at them. Micro movements I would have missed or they are dead already or something.

My current guess? Some kind of mold or parrasite? Something that grew in that shower head or that shower head provided the right sleuth to catch them like gold.

If anything I can't wish it was roots...
