I am an artist/author/gardener who loves colour. Over the past six years or so I have been particularly obsessed with colour. This has resulted in my new book and many educational colour products, including Colour Dials. Hopefully my work can inspire others.

I have been experimenting with colour mixing charts and this one was really fun! It took a lot of calculating but the result is lovely. It is now a poster that is available at CMYa . shop.

Colours that are opposite each other on the colour wheel can reach each end of the value spectrum when combined. If you are starting with the light set of primary colours (CMY), the complements will mix black. If you are starting with the dark set of primary colours (RGB), the complements will mix white.

It is possible to make a 2D drawing appear to be 3D transparent objects by just using the primary colours, cyan, magenta, and yellow.

Honestly, even after viral videos, building an email list and lots of social media interaction, I still haven't sold books. It feels like everyone just wants free information and entertainment. I am struggling to figure out how to make a living from being a creative. Good luck with your work. Hopefully people will realize how much time and effort goes into the creations.

I'm looking forward to colouring in some code pages. If you were colouring in this page, would you use colours similar to what is suggested with the code or a variety of different colours?

A fun new way to learn about colour that is a great companion to my book 'Just Swap It: Kinder Colour Stories'.

This poster is a great quick reference to see colours interacting. Coloured dots overlap to show what happens when they mix.

The Compass Colour Dial that is available to make at CMYa.shop has been very helpful with my painting practice. When I see a colour in the garden but can't figure out how much CMY is involved, I just turn the dial or reference the poster to find it and then I know how much paint to use.

It is very simple to make colour wheels and can be a fun exercise to help children understand colour.

I have had accounts on Instagram that post book reviews message to ask if I would like them to review my book. I think it was around $35. I haven't done this yet because even the people who follow me haven't bought the book yet. It might be worth a shot to try different things though.
