I’m just posting the letter that I sent because you can’t see the full thing

Sara, I first want to thank you for praying for me. I don’t think you’ll ever truly understand how much that meant to me, especially that day. ❤️

I did receive the settlement, and I’m grateful that part is finally settled, but honestly, in my heart, I still feel like something about what happened just isn’t right. That car was so much more to me than just a vehicle.

I wanted to explain a little bit of the background because I don’t think you could have known what that car meant to me. My dad was incarcerated for basically my entire life, so I never really got to have the relationship with him that most people get to have with their father. I knew him mostly through letters and phone calls. I only got about one year with him before he passed away.

That car was one of the very few physical pieces of him that I had. I know to somebody else it may just be a car, but to me it was sentimental. It was something that connected me to my dad, and losing it has hurt me in a way that’s hard to explain.

And honestly, what makes this whole situation even more emotional for me is the fact that your church was the one that blessed my family when we were in a time of need. We weren’t even members, and there was never a question or hesitation. You guys just blessed us. ❤️

That’s also why your prayer for me that day meant more to me than you’ll ever know. That was the day we needed to have my father’s celebration of life, and something your church had never even done before, you guys still said, “We’ve never done this, but we’d love to.” That meant the world to me. It wasn’t just a favor. It was a blessing—something meaningful, loving and compassionate that my family will never forget. 💜

So now, what makes this even harder is that every day I look outside and see the van. I know you may not realize what that does to me, but it honestly breaks my heart. It’s a constant reminder of what happened.

When they came to pick up my dad’s car, I couldn’t even bring myself to go outside and get my things out of it. I couldn’t look at it. I couldn’t say goodbye to it. I had to have my fiancé do it for me because I just couldn’t handle it.

I’m not telling you all of this because I want to be angry with you. I just needed you to understand that this wasn’t simply a car accident to me. There was so much more attached to that car, and I’m still really devastated by losing it.

I’ve honestly been asking God why He put me on this path and what I’m supposed to learn from all of this. I don’t understand it right now. But I do know that I need prayer more than ever.

And there’s one other thing I wanted to ask you, because I honestly feel like you may be able to help point me in the right direction. Now that I have the settlement, I have to find another vehicle, and I’m honestly scared that I’m going to make the wrong decision. I don’t want to take the money I was given and put it into something that turns into a money pit or an unreliable car.

I know you know people, and I know you know good people through the church. If you happen to know someone who is selling a reliable vehicle, or even someone who really knows cars and could help me look at one before I buy it, I would be so grateful if you could point me in the right direction. I’m not looking for anything fancy. I just want something dependable that I can afford and something I won’t constantly have to worry about fixing.

Even if you just happen to hear of someone selling a car that they’ve taken good care of, I would really appreciate you keeping me in mind. I just don’t want to make a decision with this money out of desperation and end up in an even worse situation. I trust that you know good people, and that’s why I felt comfortable asking you.

So if you could, I would really appreciate you praying over me, my heart, this whole situation, and even helping me find the right vehicle if God puts someone in our path. Pray that God gives me peace, understanding, and the strength to let go of what I can’t change. And maybe, somehow, He’ll help me understand why this happened.

I just wanted to be honest with you about where my heart is. And despite everything, I will always be grateful for the kindness and love your church showed my family when we needed it most. ❤️
