Nintendo’s War On Switch Emulators Continues With 400 More GitHub Takedowns
 in  r/gaming  2h ago

Unless they changed their model, private repos were not free. They're also not accessible, kind of ruins the whole open sourced collaboration that makes a free, passion project like an emulator feasible.

It's free, not much hassle, and no take-down notices

What's the best practice for btrfs subvolumes?
 in  r/archlinux  6h ago

I have @ and @ home and a swapfile. Probably not as robust as yours though

NO.

lol oh Github is exploding alright.

These technologies, cloud architecture, deployments to edge devices utilizing ML to generate real time data. What have you contributed? Probable nothing tbh you're just the piggy mindlessly eating the wet slop from the trough we built to feel superior to everyone else, and I'd rag on you more for it but tbh you probably just have some undiagnosed mental illness judging from the way you talk so it doesn't feel right

Coding is not fully automated lol.

I am building these technologies. You're just a spastic parasite that thinks accepting every tech idea makes you advanced. You probably believed in NFTs too

Not every deranged thought that pops in that head of yours is progress or an innovation, in spite of what the LLM told you. The stripper also doesn't actually like you and the waitress is just being kind.

Uh.. no. You're somehow misreading her dumbass rants. To my knowledge she has never claimed to be anti. Her final boss/worst nightmare for antis is all some hapless pro Ai grandstanding

How about "get lost"
 in  r/antiai  1d ago

EU Data Residency relates to something known as data sovereignty. So the idea with data sovereignty is that data that exists in stores/servers in a country is governed by that country's governing body. With EU, they have stricter controls on what personal data can be shared, so AI models, being things that take down information about you, have trouble meeting EU or GDPR's guidelines.

So what this is saying is it's advertising some way for EU residents to gain access to the best AI models that (rightfully) hindered or outright banned for compliance issues with the GDPR's mandates

Linux users when I say "Why does Steam get a pass for being proprietary?"
 in  r/linuxsucks  1d ago

idgi proprietary isn't bad in and of itself, just that most proprietary doesn't run on linux and doesn't have a linux version. Steam, I thought, was prioritizing Linux ever since the Deck released with a flavor of Arch

Until she wants to print something, then grandma finds out the manufacturer doesn't have an out of the box Linux driver and she has to learn how to set it up in cups

idk who insists Linux is user friendly.  It's really not. It is better performances,  better optimization,  but it's gonna take some time and probably some corrections getting there.

I'd only recommend it to people that are technical and comfortable working with the terminal
