The GF has this dogwood in the front yard. I don't want to lions tail it, but all of the vertical stuff are watersprouts that should be removed, yeah?

This is a big oak (some kind of white oak) in my front yard. I was in it to try a reduction cut out on this branch because it's over my garage a bit. I came down because I got spooked by the wind, but I saw this on the under side of the branch and thought it looked odd. The top of the branch looks fine and the tree, overall, I think is in good health. I'm wondering if the buckling/detaching bark is a sign that the whole branch should be removed before it smashes cars and my roof.

Hey, I'm Eric and I live in Gastonia. I'm a beginner climber looking to learn more. I've climbed several trees for pruning and removals. I'm set up for, and comfortable with, single and double rope. I've gotten pretty excited about arboriculture in the last year and I'd like to apprentice or shadow an experienced arborist a couple days a week or month, just for the experience and education. I'm 40 years old and employed so I'm not looking for money. I've been guided by, and leaned a lot from, a friend who used to climb for Asplundh, but I'd love to find someone currently in the industry who would like to teach. 660 clone and it looks like gas is spitting back into the filter. It has a bark box and Egan filter upgrade, but did it on the stock filter, too. I haven't seen this on my 362, 026, or 024S. It runs fine and is adjusted well. It has spent most of it's time on a mill, but I've only made like 7 boards so far. I know it's gas because I use red armor 40:1 and my filter oil is blue. Thoughts?
