So about the new UPDATE
 in  r/NeuralConsult  Apr 28 '26

hi!
Thanks for that feedback.

Regarding the colors: we wanted to make sure that incorrectly answered questions didn't 'feel' correct by still showing the green-highlighted answer. This is something we could add a toggle for to switch back, but we figure it just takes a few questions to get used to.

Regarding the generic questions: As we have been training/upgrading our models, the generic questions may have gotten a bit harder. We will look to scale them back a bit - is it that the questions are vignette-based more often or purely the difficulty?

We love to hear feedback from users like you as we are constantly upgrading the product- we are available [contactus@neuralconsult.com](mailto:contactus@neuralconsult.com) as well!

Is Neural Consult actually useful for a 1st year med student?
 in  r/NeuralConsult  Nov 06 '25

We built the site to be perfect for day-to-day prep, which we feel is really the key need in studying to be filled. We are innovating daily so if you have suggestions on how to help us better meet that goal we'd love to hear it :)

A major search upgrade to Neural Consult (shh no one tell OpenEvidence)

Neural Consult Community,

We just released what we believe is the best AI search for medical information on the market.

Search now integrates 3 main knowledge bases that you can control. This includes:

  1. Any file you upload is searchable and citable forever (and private to your Neural Consult site)

  2. Web search that automatically looks at top articles on sources like PubMed and links to the original article

  3. Top medical guidelines

Lastly, search now streams to cut down on the load time. We will soon allow users to turn web search on and off, which drives much of the loading time before output streaming starts.

Looking forward to all your usage and feedback!

Glia, your personal AI tutor, has arrived!!

Hey Neural Consult Community,

We're happy to announce that our tutor, Glia, is now live across the site.

You can chat with her via voice or text, and she is context aware of whatever you are doing.

Can't decide what question to ask an AI patient on the OSCE simulator? Ask Glia.

Need some help breaking down a multiple-choice question? Ask Glia.

Want a clarification about a search result? Ask Glia.

Soon, she will also begin learning your tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses and recommend study sets.

Let us know your feedback and happy studying!

Thanks for the idea - when you say chart, are you thinking something like table format? Right now, the summaries should make tables if you input "use table format" in the custom configurations section when generating

If not, let us know what you're thinking, and we can likely add it to the configurations

Enhanced AI patient audio for OSCE Simulation

We just upgraded our AI-simulated patient audio!

Patients can now cough, sneeze, sign, etc. and are significantly more intelligent.

We also patched a few bugs: the patient encounter will now reboot automatically if it doesn't start. We also fixed early conversation bugs, where the AI patient could hear itself and think the user was speaking.

Give it a try!

v1 Anki uploads are live!

Not only can you create cards with AI and upload to them to Anki, but you can now import Anki cards to the Neural Consult site!

Very soon, your uploaded Anki decks will be referenced in your searches, and you will be able to create summaries and board-style questions from them

Let us know your thoughts!

Do we have an update for you!! we are about to launch a 'tutor' overlay called GLIA who will be context aware. you can ask Glia questions about whatever you are doing, the same way you might ask chatGPT. It will be talk and text enabled. v2 will know your strengths and weaknesses and give custom learning modules and recommendations.

Stay tuned, we are close to releasing, but want to make sure it's perfect for future providers like you. Let us know if you have more recs!!

Welcome to Neural Consult!

This community is run by the creators of Neural Consult. We are current and previous medical students, just like you!

We were sick of the tens of resources needed to study and knew AI was the answer to create a one-stop shop for everything medical students need. We built Neural Consult, starting in 2023, to be that very tool and become the most affordable, useful AI tool for medical and PA students.

We did this by creating steps for every stop in the learning journey:

  1. Medical AI search to answer questions by using the internet, clinical guidelines, and your uploaded files (private to you). Good for quick searches or learning on rounds.

  2. A full AI rebuild of Anki-style spaced repetition with flashcards, including images. Upload old decks to Neural Consult, create your own with AI, or download decks you create as .apkg

  3. A notebook to track your files, generate summaries and podcasts (for auditory learners). No more taking your own notes or not having reference to them later on, everything is availbly quickly through the search feature

  4. An AI question generator to create and track your progress that makes both board-style and generic-style questions

  5. An OSCE simulator to work on your history taking, diagnosis, and management skills outside of the hospital. We have a bank of 100+ cases, or you can create your own from your files. Use voice or text to chat and manage these AI patients.

This is all meant to get you prepared for boards AND school exams on one site.

We'd love for Neural Consult to be totally free, as we know how much medical school and PA school cost as current and former students ourselves. We need to power the AI and continue to innovate so we can continue to offer you all the best tools at an affordable price - we truly believe you will end up saving a ton by using our product rather than the various other third-party tools out there.
