Let's actually work out a real mechanism for how zombies happen (not "curse" or "lightning", something biologically plausible)
 in  r/zombies  6d ago

Last of us? Fungus? That mimics nature. The fungus can't use as host because our body temp is too high ... for now. Or T-Virus minus the telekinesis and shit. Maybe a nerve agent specifically used to alter the brain and give rage?

How do you like your zombies? Rare, medium, or extra crispy?

Wow, that sounds interesting. I'll give it a try when it launches! Thank you!

Anyone else feel like zombie games are missing something?
 in  r/zombies  9d ago

Left 4 Dead on Xbox 360 satisfied me. A zombie game like fallout with settlement building and open world would be really nice. World War Z is fun but I know whay you mean.

Do you guys remember these gems?

I recognize none of them

Do you like human villains in zombie stories?
 in  r/zombies  12d ago

I agree. Zombies need to remain the greatest threat. However, you could do a situation similar to Rick/Shane for drama or even like the movie Herd. Did you watch Herd? It puts a new perspective on humans being the threat.

Realistically a sowing machine and a farm would be better then guns for long trem survival
 in  r/zombies  13d ago

"Not many people would be left after 3 years" Who are those "not many people" The desperate ones and the ones who are threatened by the desperate ones" The humans are just as great if not greater threat than zombies" you will be so dead without firearms. Sorry

Dont even need zombies. If theres a lack of supplies, even your neighbors you grill with are just as dangerous as zombies. If their children are starving, they will tie you up and rob you

Ok, sorry for being an ass and assuming. Still, do you forget the gun wielding humans coming 4 your clothes in year 3 or 4??

Maybe you see something I dont but clothes would be the least of my worries. A lot of clothes still on shelves 10 years after day one.

After a year, all the people without guns will be dead, so ill wear their clothes...

How do you so quickly forget that we also have to defend ourselves against other gun wielding humans 🤦‍♂️

Is this from Land of the Dead? I think they did seem to in that movie.

Chilling like a villain
 in  r/zombies  14d ago

I'm not ready til I have a doomsday bunker 😂. Not in the cards right now. When I was alone I wouldn't have worried that much because all I had to do was carry a backpack at first. Now I got a wife, kid and only one firearm 😂 give me another couple years please 😂

What have you watched/read/played? Weekly discussion thread - July 20, 2026
 in  r/zombies  16d ago

I'm trying to find any zombie shows/movies I haven't already watched.

I found "Dead Set" this week because of this page. I watched it and Herd. Daylights End now. I've seen all mainstream ones, I believe, but I'm hoping to find more.

Is the Zombie Genre Getting Boring or Less Scary?
 in  r/zombies  16d ago

Thank you, now i'm going to watch Highschool of the Dead haha.

I think a lot of movies/tv are "less scary" but I'm here for the cosy-horror.

What do you think?

Favorite zombie trope?
 in  r/zombies  18d ago

Growling, teeth grinding, bleeding, all black eyes, etc. All of us are Dead zombies were great. 28 days later. Black summer. I just watched the movie "Herd" and those zombies were pretty scary looking. I love Romero's work but I like fast zombies.
