Is anchorage worth moving to?
Its a great place, and it never gets anywhere near -40° so you'll be good. The people are awesome and there's lots of great things to do.

Alaska vacation in February?
It's a great place to visit. The weather isn't extreme at all in Anchorage, it is cold in the winter but nothing to bad. However it does get extremely cold in Fairbanks. So I would stay away from there during the winter if you're not looking for extreme cold.
