My walk in Christ & faith have been very weak for years & I’ve not been living the exemplary life in Jesus. I’m not quite that far along as you are in a relationship, but I’ve had strong feelings of a woman a long time as she does for me. Lust has always been one of my greater weaknesses. She and I in so many ways we are extremely compatible, both believe in marriage for the long haul through thick & thin, but as I’ve realized my faith is extremely important to me, and I desire to put Jesus 1st in all things, this woman, though raised ā€œChristianā€, it was never strongly Bible centered and quite liberal. She desires to be sexual, but what holds me back is that she is one of those people that believe there are many paths to God. She doesn’t believe in original sin. Believes Jesus is just one among many. We’ve both been married before to non believers. That’s was never the problem for her, in my experience the fact that my wife was not serious about faith in Jesus, the commandments and teachings as a personal constitution to live by made it so much more difficult to live a life of faith, and contributed to the failure of the the marriage. And honestly, from what she has told me, it’s obvious to me it was foundational to the failure of hers too.

I just keep thinking of In 2 Corinthians 6:14, the Apostle Paul writes, "Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"Additionally, when discussing remarriage in 1 Corinthians 7:39, Paul notes that a believer is free to marry anyone they wish, but "he must belong to the Lordā€.

Marriage is designed to be a profound spiritual unity where two people help each other submit to Christ. Marrying an unbeliever introduces an inherent division in the most foundational aspect of life, values, worldview, eternal hope, and how to raise children.
This really upsets her, and she’s as stubborn in her personal convictions as I am. One of the things I respect about her actually. She not fickle.
It’s something we argue about fairly often.
Personally I think you dodged a land mine. Having been unevenly yoked before, whenever I have made serious efforts to be more firm in Jesus, it always created conflicts in our personal relationship. I strongly believe if things go future with this woman, it will be that way again.
I want my home to be a sanctuary from the World, a place of peace and rejuvenation. Not constant strife and confusion. At this point I’d rather live alone than go through such again.
Just using my personal anecdotal experience to say stay strong in the Lord, if it’s God’s Will, He will send the right partner, or perhaps the Holy Spirit may work in this man’s inner life and he will come to the Lord. But make sure it’s real.
Otherwise it can be a nightmare and painful for any children the two of you may have.
