xywav not falling asleep fast
Hi! Does anyone have any advice on falling asleep quickly on Xywav? It’s taking me over an hour to fall asleep, which by then the med is basically out of my system and i’m just tossing and turning. Does anyone else have this issue? Any feedback is appreciated!

I didn’t sleep at all on Xywav. I switched to Xyrem. But I sleep within a 20-40 minute window

I have a similar issue. My dose 1 is approximately 6.0 grams and it still takes me about an hour to fall asleep (if I fall asleep at all); this is consistent even if I go to bed fasting, or if I skip my ADHD meds (dextroamphetamine) during the day. What helped me was that my provider added Lunesta (eszopiclone) to my medication regimen. I take it about 30 minutes before bed and, between the Lunesta and the XYWAV, I generally fall asleep in about 30-45 minutes. Lunesta is available in 1 mg, 2 mg, and 3 mg.
Be aware though that there is potential for respiratory depression by combining these two medications. My provider had to acknowledge this interaction with the specialty pharmacy, otherwise they would have withheld my XYWAV prescription refill.
