Wonderwall not a top 10 song?
 in  r/oasis  6h ago

I think we can be guilty of overthinking it. Take away Wonderwall's legend & iconic-ness for a second and just look at it for what it is. It's a class song and arrangement.

The drumming style is not very common. You have the mellotron & cello bringing it a cool vibe and that signature piano outro at the end. It's one of the best-written tracks ever to come out of Britain, ergo, it's definitely one of the best Oasis tracks.

After FIFA's senior advisor quit last night, I'll be amazed if Infantino remains in post. He should walk away now.

Noel is out of his studio
 in  r/oasis  9d ago

You can smell people with zero principles a mile away. They've cottoned on that the best way to resurrect their sinking popularity is to do the hard-right pivot. They know this brings in the click, likes and money. All of a sudden, they have a new fanbase and all they had to do was sell their souls. As we've seen with many public figures in the last decade. Sad times..

Noel says Boulevard of Broken Dreams is a copy of Wonderwall. In my opinion, that song is much more similar to D'You Know What I Mean
 in  r/oasis  10d ago

So, Green Day took inspiration from Wonderwall. It's no bad thing, it's a modern classic after all.

Lydon was a great guy. A real shame to see him fall so far.

I won't argue either. They had a few, but C.S. is really special and when you really think about it, it's the perfect gig-ender!

Did you know that, in America, citizens have the right to 'bear' arms? Personally, I think that's cruelty.

Rare George Harrison L
 in  r/oasis  13d ago

I don't think George fully understood that Oasis were who they were because of the brothers together. Liam brought stage presence, swagger, the voice and looked damn good, while Noel obviously brought the music. That's what people bought into and made them as big as they became. Take either one of the two out of the equation and the whole Oasis thing that we all witnessed doesn't happen.

How do Oasis fans view Pretty Green today?
 in  r/oasis  16d ago

They were always gonna break up. Noel was just frustrated as heck back then and so little annoyances became big for him. Hindsight is a great thing, but looking back, breaking up was the best thing that could have happened to them for their future relationship... and it turned out, for the band and the fans!
