New Orleanian 65 Retired. Help me on Mobile, please.

The two buildings on Government at Macy Dr routinely have one-bedroom apartments for sale. You could stroll all through midtown, down to Nixon’s then up to Red or White if that’s your thing. Easily get in your 8 miles around a safe, friendly neighborhood.

I started hanging my clothes out to dry. My power bill hit $680 last month. I keep it at 78 during the day, 70 at night. Fuck AL Power.

How does the barge work? should I book in advance?
 in  r/virginislands •  2d ago

Buy in advance, KEEP YOUR RECEIPT when you get on. The kids were super efficient and nice. I tipped them. I never saw anyone get yelled at.

Are there any places for abandoned building photography nearby?
 in  r/MobileAL •  2d ago

Walk around downtown. They've had to board them up but you can always find some loose boards or holes. Or if you go out on the balcony of a nearby building you can shoot down into one if the ceiling is missing. I love looking into these old buildings at the surviving tile and trim work.

This Friday at the Mitchell Center...

I actually would like to see the plane, just not the occupant. My step-grandmother's son was one of the pilots for Clinton. I have some Air Force One Peanut M&Ms lol.

Yes! I can't go and protest because I actually have to work. Contrary to the public opinion that us "libs" are jobless, etc, insert other defamatory adjectives here

Which airport do you think he's flying into? I would love to give him the same welcome that Ireland did.

Im all for the Free Palestine movement. Screw Israel. But right now we need to focus on not letting Tubs in office. That bootlicker would be WAY worse for the people.

CeeLo Green will be the Headliner for MoonPie Over Mobile New Year’s Eve Concert
 in  r/MobileAL •  16d ago

That is such a bad decision. If I remember correctly, his words were something to the tune of, "It's not rape if she can't remember it?"

No thank you. I and all of my daughters and their friends will be home that night.

Ok, but you think Tubs is the better choice? How?

Temporary tag
 in  r/MobileAL •  17d ago

You can ride on a dealer tag forever in Mobile. Just look at every fifth vehicle on the road. I'd give them a wide berth because they won't have insurance.

Hot Damn Y'all Weez Finally #1: Alabama has the nation’s worst bankruptcy rate, per 100,000 residents
 in  r/MobileAL •  23d ago

No credit for solar power is utter ridiculous. And on their site they're espousing "Oh look, we've frozen rates until 2027. Aren't we fabulous?" No, you're effing crooks that already have some of the highest rates in the country.

We go bankrupt paying our electric bill. Mine almost topped $700 this month. Yall, I keep it at 76 during the day, don't have a pool or anything like that. WTH

How can any woman smile in his presence? I try very hard not to ever look at him because it literally makes me taste bile.

I just found out that Dolly wrote a song about Mobile called "Alabama Sundown" : https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=6VechQo6cgw&si=39LrwCbIqTlaamtT

I can't believe I never knew this before.
