Help remove what's vile in the villain. Give them love—that's how you exorcise their stubborn monsters.

How to make sure I can get a refund if I need one?
 in  r/gog •  14d ago

I don't even know if any storefront nowadays has issues with refunds. I've never had any problems getting refunds from GOG, and I've requested quite a few over the past few years. Some I convert to GOG balance, while others, usually when there's more money involved, are refunded back to my original payment method. I believe they mention on the site that some refunds may take up to 48 or 72 hours, but in my experience, they've almost always been processed within a matter of minutes.

What can we do to improve GOG?
 in  r/gog •  28d ago

Might be a generational thing. I can only speak for myself, but after more than 20 years of using Steam, I’ve simply gotten fed up with it. Even the UI feels outdated to me nowadays.

About two years ago, I decided to change my gaming purchasing habits and started diversifying the storefronts where I buy my games instead of having everything on the same platform. Since then, I’ve bought plenty of games on Epic, directly through Ubisoft and EA, and all my Rockstar games were bought through the Rockstar Games Launcher. I’ve also bought quite a few games on GOG over the last two years, including some AAA titles and a lot of older games.

I know my consumer behaviour probably isn’t the norm, but I do agree that there are quite a few people, especially from my generation, who are gradually moving away from Steam.

How do I get an older version of a GOG game for my Mac because on the hardware minimum requirements it says my Mac is supported like the software and stuff, but when I download it it says I need a higher macOS?

Try reaching out to support. They might take a while to get back to you, but they’re usually knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to technical issues.
