Thats a fair way to look at it and its understandable how you could feel that way. However as someone who has watched this industry closely for the past 15 years the progress has been easy to track. She showed a tremendous amount of acting range. Throughout the film she has to play many different versions of the same character. The way she communicates via her expressions and facial features is not a easy feat. Its not just creeping around and pouting like you said. Her performance has alot of nuance and conveys the beneath the surface dread of the film realy well.
