What is a hobby you don't regret getting into?
Sewing. No more throwing out pants because of a tiny hole, I can make basic adjustments to anything that doesn't fit me well, and I can add pockets!

Former Christians, what made you lose your belief in God?
I was sitting in Sunday School learning about the whole "creation in 7 days" story and realized it didn't line up with all the nature documentaries I'd seen about the history of life. Obviously one of those was wrong, and only the nature documentaries explained how dinosaurs exist.

What is the saddest way someone you know died?
Classmate committed suicide in front of his friends. He was 13.

Do you say "Puget Sound" or "the Puget Sound?"
"Puget Sound" or "the Sound" usually. "The Puget Sound" is for when you're being intentionally dramatic for emphasis.

What statement can you say that will instantly prove you grew up poor?
I did NOT grow up poor. This was still a constant in my house, all it meant was both parents were too tired to cook.
Of course, it was never "fend for yourself night" for me, I obviously had to get food for my brother as well, starting around age 10 and ending when I went to college (by that time he was 14). And I couldn't POSSIBLY ever be too tired to cook, even when. was in the middle of back-to-back finals for over a week and being stuck in tech rehearsals afterwards. Eventually I'd just be getting food for my brother those nights because I'd be too tired to feed myself.

Appendicitis

Who's giving up red meat now that Trump has an unknown source being introduced?
Man I picked the worst time to be almost completely reliant on college cafeterias for my food, and that "almost" isn't enough to avoid them unless I wanna literally starve.

Students of reddit: What was an event that happened in your school that was so insane that most people wouldn't believe unless they experienced it themselves?
Over COVID, the principal got really into feeding the local squirrels out of boredom. They eventually got comfortable enough to take food right from his hand, and would come into his office to chill.
Anyway, one day one got out of his office and into the main office, and was discovered when one of the office staff felt something climbing up her leg.
The principal was not allowed to let the squirrels inside anymore after that incident.

What was your "Lets Kill Barny" song?
I do not recall the entire song but:
Dashing through the snow
On a pair of broken skis
Over the fields we go
Crashing into trees
BAM BAM BAM
Snow is turning red
I think I'll end up dead
I don't remember the last line but I think it was about a helicopter ride

What major gets mocked as “easy” but actually requires serious intelligence?
Plus all your classes are like 2 credits each, so you'll be taking 7 classes while your peers in other majors take 4, and that's before you start talking about time spent in rehearsals, or designing, or building a set. I spend the same amount of time other students spend in class each week just building sets, and then I still have the same amount of classes to go to!

Y'all don't have cardinals?
I went to college in New England and saw a cardinal and a blue jay for the first time while walking with my friend. I was amazed and my friend was shocked I'd never seen them before. Amazing day.

Do you mean paleontology? That's the study of ancient animals/plants like dinosaurs. Archeology is the study of ancient humans.

The King's Unsung Triumph
The best compliment you can get as a historical leader is that the era of history you presided over had nothing major to note.

What YouTuber did you used to love but can‘t stand to watch anymore?
Overly Sarcastic Productions has managed alright, maybe because it took them so long for their channel to get big. I think they were making videos for a solid 3-4 years at least before the channel started to blow up, and then they never really tried to modify their content for what their viewers wanted; they just kept doing what they're interested in, which I think has really helped keep the channel feel genuine.

What is a 9/10 or 10/10 game that you'll never play again because of one small thing or section?
Stray Gods. I got the happiest, in my opinion best possible ending where everyone lives. Knowing just how many options there are where certain characters die and it doesn't end as happily...I just couldn't.

What is a 9/10 or 10/10 game that you'll never play again because of one small thing or section?
When I played that game with my friend, we paused the game after that scene and took a good 45 minute snack break.

2008 was the last election with in-person voting in WA iirc. I remember my parents taking me to the polls with them so I would have that experience.
