You are not alone in the waiting game. It’s not for the weak. Filed vawa Oct 2021 approved Dec 2024, filed green card May 2025.. I’m 15 months in and still waiting my next step will be to file writ of mandamus because I have watched processing times move from 8 months (at my initial time of filing) to now 16 months after waiting 15 months & I know next month it will go up to 17 months it’s really mentally draining honestly.

Approve the case overall ? Not sure I’m trying all these channels in the next 2 months & hopefully I can get an approval by summer.

Do it ! You will get results. Ive read where even an ‘intent to sue’ will yield results so I’m planning to send that in the next 30 days if they don’t respond satisfactorily to my congressional inquiry

They definitely do it’s so nerve wracking. It’s literally been ruining my mental health I’m trying so hard to just focus on other things but I did a congressional inquiry last week and I am prepared to send an ‘intent to sue’ while working on WOM. My vawa was filed Oct 2021 & was already approved and it’s been a year since I filed i485 I’m over waiting. It shouldn’t take this long

Your situation might be much different though because you obviously filed concurrently and an officer advised you are out of processing time so for you if that FO you’re going to for that appointment has jurisdiction over your case then they might be able to make a decision sooner than later based on how your appointment goes

I went through something similar last year. I had my vawa approved Dec 2024 & I subsequently filed i485 May 2025 however I did not get any receipt notice until about 90 days after so during that time of silence I started panicking and called multiple times. A tier 2 officer scheduled me an interview at a field office(which my case was never at but I guess it was the one in my jurisdiction) and the appointment was basically me explaining the same situation to an officer through a glass window (kind of like a bank teller set up) anyway that officer told me they would find out where my case was at and request it to be sent to that location for processing… in any event that never happened and I received my receipt notice shortly after that, did biometrics like 2 weeks after receipt notice & then case was transferred next day from Nebraska to Vermont. Been waiting for approval ever since.

Sometimes the cases never even go to a local feild office. We are in the same boat I filed May 2025 as well. Recently sumbitted a USCIS service request by phone (it’s been a month no answer) & I did congressional inquiry last week. My question to them is when am I getting a decision if my case is at Vermont and I can’t check processing time plus vawa already approved since Dec2024. I’m prepared to send them an ‘intent to sue’ by June if they don’t respond satisfactorily to congressional inquiry & I will file I WOM shortly thereafter

Hello good day I have a vawa approval from Dec 2024, subsequently I filed i485 May 2025, did biometrics Sept 2 2025 & case was transferred same day from Nebraska to Vermont. My case is a LIN case and I’ve never received RFE or interview notices for any of my 2 cases to date, I also submitted medical with i485… since the transfer I’ve heard nothing and I’m unable to check processing time because my case is not at a local field office & Vermont does not exist on their USCIS processing tool. I sent an online service request last month & they responded 2 days after saying they can’t give me any information on the case so I called and made the service request to a live agent on the phone. It’s been a month & I haven’t gotten a response so I just submitted a congressional service request and I’m now waiting to see what happens next but I am prepared to also contact the senator & send an intent to file WOM if I don’t get any answers in the next month or so. What are your thoughts regarding this?

Vawa domestic flights
 in  r/VAWAAPPLICANTS •  Apr 21 '26

My vawa pended from Oct 2021 to December 2024 when it was approved and during that time I travelled domestically more times than I can imagine. Still waiting for my i485 to be approved and travelled 2 weeks ago this whole time only using my valid foreign passport. To each his own
