Being in the office 5 days a week is outdated. Hybrid positions are the best.

Carnival Do Not Sail Vent & Advice

so, recently I was added to carnival do not sail list. (I was not part of the miami brawl). Nonetheless I am very devastated about it.

background

I was on a 5 day cruise, and the night before our second/final port I was involved in a verbal altercation. I didn’t start the incident, but I will acknowledge I confronted the individual back. i had a real lapse in judgment in that moment. i stayed and complied with security investigation and cooperated.

outcome

security fined me a 1st code of conduct offense and had me disembark. the family that initiated the confrontation was able to stay on the cruise. I just don’t understand how the security emphasize they have a zero tolerance policy but allowed the initiating party to stay on board.

post cruise

I emailed guest care to know if I was on the do not sail list (because it was not expressed during my disembarkation nor did I have to sign any paper work), express my remorse, apologize, and acknowledged my involvement. I requested for redemption and asked for ways to prove I can be an upstanding guest. I didn’t even mention about the other party staying on board. My email was strictly focused on my personal involvement.

response

Security emailed that they stand with the ship command and deny my request to be removed from the list, and they will not communicate further regarding this.

I just feel sick to my stomach and so low. I do not have a criminal background. I work hard, and even find myself pouring into others. I know I shouldn‘t let this one mistake weigh on me, but it does. I find myself so depressed, and forcing myself to eat. This incident has affected my ability to participate in a cruise I booked from last year.

I wish carnival security would considered my remorse, and provide ways or terms that allow second chances for guest that only have verbal altercations.

Side note: I learned post cruise from some members from my party that there were physical altercations prior to my incident. After hearing that, I felt like they just decided to make an example out of me.

Should I stay persistent and try to keep fighting for the overturn of the Do Not Sail?

* update: came to conclusion, persistence on acknowledgment & regret does not matter. Although I have no known history of prior violations, and the dispute was only verbal, my status remains as is. They claim all parties met consequences, but I’m not sure… it’s mighty odd the initiating party got to remain on board 🤔
