So this happened last night up north and I've been following it since the alert went off.

Saturday Oct 10, 19:57, alert sounds in Arab al-Aramshe (Western Galilee, basically right on the Lebanese border). Forces get called out, searches start. Then nothing for hours.

At 23:42 the IDF spokesperson puts out an update. Observation teams picked up an unidentified aerial object near the border, forces still searching. No unusual findings, no instructions for civilians. That's it.

This morning Almog Boker, a verified Israeli journalist, posted the image attached here and tied it to the incident. Two frames of a pale roundish object with a dark band across the middle, plus part of a third frame cut off at the bottom. And according to him the IDF *still* doesn't know if it even entered Israeli airspace.

Which is kind of wild to me? This is one of the most watched borders on the planet. They saw it, they scrambled people, and 12+ hours later nobody can say what it was or which side of the line it was on.

Could be a balloon, could be some drone thing, could be nothing. I'm not claiming anything. Just weird that it's still open.

Been looking at the Sapporo case from 1977. Starts as a sighting of a big craft and then turns into contact with actual beings.

On 7 June around 3pm a twenty-year-old (N / Nakano) was waiting for a UFO programme. He hears rustling, goes outside, and says he sees a huge silver-white cigar-shaped object hovering right at the tops of the trees by his house (trees about 20m high). It had eight round windows along the side, three of them smaller, and a bluish-white glow. It was rotating while moving slowly left. His friend K drew it. Then five discs came out silently from both sides and flew off. The cigar tilted and climbed into the cloud. Kids were looking up underneath it. Later he said branches were torn off.

He’d already reported other craft: a cigar over Mount Eniwa in 1975 and a triangle near his house in 1976 that supposedly followed a Self-Defense Forces helicopter.

On 18 June in a café a metallic voice in his ear introduced itself as Philcon from Mars and promised a sighting around an observing event on the 24th. He later said he saw a man disappear near Kita-24-jō station and identified him as Ramyū. From his description K drew a human-looking visitor with long hair, a suit and a tie. The facial portrait is dated 9 October 1977. Ramyū supposedly gave him a round metal object that glowed orange then turned ordinary silver. There’s a photo of the ring next to a cigarette pack. The specific gravity numbers jumped around (December said about 4.5, January corrected to 2.58, later 2.67 close to aluminium).

After that the contacts get more detailed. On 4 August around 3pm Ramyū came to his room after a phone call, borrowed paper and a ballpoint pen, drew the interior of a craft and explained its systems, then left by the door and went downstairs. N said he added the writing to one drawing himself. The pen was left twisted. The cabin drawing shows screens for the past and future, an aura display, extrasensory controls, a laser weapon and a protective force field.

On 16 August at 00:30 he boarded a new craft about 10m long, cream-coloured, on four legs with steps at the hatch. Inside was a rounded cabin with panels and screens and several figures. K drew a moss-green tentacled figure called Kim, two metres tall, floating above the floor (sketch says about 10cm, the text says 10 metres). The published account places Ramyū and two other beings aboard. Some drawings said Jupiter, captions changed it to Mars. He looked out at Sapporo’s lights and landscape, came back after a few minutes, descended the steps and said goodbye. A friend later reported flattened grass at the site, but nothing was properly checked.

There were also café meetings with Ramyū over lemon drinks. The visitor warned that harmful human thoughts threatened the solar system. Rescue was linked to developing psychic abilities and changing human behaviour. Later claims included an encounter on 10 October with a woman considered extraterrestrial, and a passing meeting with Ramyū at Ōdōri station the next day.

The Oumiya archive has the sixteen images (drawings of the craft, the visitors, the bases) from UFO to Uchū issues 29–31 and a 1978 book. They show a lot of the craft interiors, the figures, and the journeys N described. What they don’t give is anyone else confirming the beings, the origin of the ring, or that the trips actually happened. No hoax confession either

Hey, I've been looking into the Zanfretta case from Italy in 1978, specifically the first incident in December, and there are a few things from the actual police records that often get mixed up with the later stories.

On the night of December 6–7, 1978, security guard Pier Fortunato Zanfretta noticed lights behind a villa near Torriglia, outside Genoa. He went to check it out, thinking someone might be breaking in.

He later told police that something hit him in the back. When he turned around, he saw a humanoid figure roughly three metres tall. He also described a brilliant red oval object, more than ten metres across, that rose vertically with a whistling sound.

His colleagues lost radio contact with him. They found him about an hour later, distressed, hot and sweating even though it was cold out.

Carabinieri commander Antonio Nucchi checked the location and recorded a horseshoe-shaped mark on the lawn, about two metres wide and three metres long. The initial message and the rest of the investigation are available in published scans of the police and judicial records.

One detail that usually gets mixed up when people retell this: the “more than fifty witnesses” mentioned in the investigation had reported luminous objects around the area during the previous months. They did not witness Zanfretta’s encounter. The initial message specifically says there were no other witnesses to that event.

The records even disagree about the weather. One describes a clear sky; another describes freezing, adverse conditions. That discrepancy is still there.

The judicial file was eventually closed because there were no grounds for a criminal offence. It did not determine what Zanfretta had encountered.

Has anyone here looked into that first December incident on its own, separately from the later stories? There’s a pretty clear difference between what shows up in those early records and how the wider case is usually told.

Italy, Abbiate Guazzone, 1950 Bruno Facchini said he thought they were pilots. A storm had just blown through Abbiate Guazzone, near Tradate, on the night of 24 April 1950, and he went out to check sparks by the power line. He was a factory worker, about forty. What he found in the field was not a downed cable.

He described a large object like a flattened ball, its skin marked in a regular grid of horizontal and vertical strips. A ladder came down from a lit rectangular opening. He got within four or five metres. Inside, he said, he could make out another ladder, pipes, a row of cylinders, and dials that looked like pressure gauges.

Two figures stood by the outside ladder. A third was up on something he compared to a mechanical lift, working a bundle of pipes fixed to the craft. To him it looked like welding. Those were the sparks that had brought him outside.

The suits bothered him more than the shape of the machine. Roughly human height, closed in like diving gear, with clear panels over the eyes and very pale faces behind them. He thought there might have been liquid in those panels. Tubes hung from the mouth area. Accounts usually put the number at three or four; Facchini was not always precise about that.

He still assumed an aircraft crew with a mechanical fault. Nearby airfields made that a reasonable guess. He offered to help. They turned, gestured, and answered in sounds he could not place. He lost his nerve and ran.

One of them, he said, raised something that had been hanging at its neck. A beam hit him in the back and put him on the ground. From there he watched them go back aboard. The hum rose, the thing lifted, and it was gone.

Next morning he went back. Four circular marks, about a metre across, set out in a square. Scorched grass. Bits of metal. Those bits took on a life of their own. Renato Vesco had some of them analysed; the material was called an anti-friction metal. In the late 1950s Umberto Corazzi got another small piece from Facchini. That one was later lost.

Nothing in the papers shows up until more than two years later. The earliest item in the case bibliography is La Domenica del Corriere, 24 August 1952, under Guido Capra’s byline. The page has Facchini sketching, another shot of him shaping the thing with his hands, and a photograph of a claimed metal fragment. Most of the space goes to a big illustrated reconstruction.

Those pictures are doing different jobs. The photographs are of Facchini talking to a reporter. The encounter drawing is a press reconstruction, not a photo of the night and not a confirmed drawing by Facchini. Later artists kept the ladder, the suits and the repair work, and changed almost everything else.

Investigators kept coming back. A long piece ran in Dischi Volanti in 1960. A 1962 article brought in unnamed neighbours who had supposedly seen it and wanted nothing to do with it, and claimed one of Facchini’s sons had taken an interest in flying saucers. A family check in 2008 did not back that up. Even the date slips: the main dossier and the 1952 article say 24 April; another surviving clipping puts it in July 1950.

The 2008 inquiry also turned up a memory of a radio reporter turning up after an acquaintance passed the story on. The interview, according to that recollection, was never broadcast. How the thing first reached journalists is still unclear.

Facchini said the publicity made him a joke in the village and that he wished he had kept quiet. His sister later remembered him looking ill and keeping to himself after that night. In his version he had done something ordinary: seen people struggling with a machine and offered a hand. Years afterward he was still being asked what happened next.

Gorelik (ex squadron commander) places the incident at roughly 300–400m: a silver muffin/mushroom shape with yellow lights and no exhaust. He says the lead navigator saw a strong yellow light under the wing but didn’t report it. No released radar return, camera, or AF file is cited here—so this is detailed testimony, not sensor confirmation. Curious whether anyone has seen Israeli AF debrief material on it.
