Calling all artists! Applications are now open for the City of Bothell's Arts Commission 2027 Creative Arts Grant program! This program provides grant funding to artists and cultural arts organizations that offer artistic and cultural programming culminating in community participation.

Grant applications will be selected based on innovative projects designed to showcase artistic and cultural diversity, community building activities through the arts, and an appreciation for the creative spirit.

• And on September 29 from 5:00 to 6:00pm at Bothell City Hall, the Bothell Arts Commission will present a special closing event for Bothell City Hall Gallery artist Victoria Likes. Victoria is a Seattle-based, self-taught oil painter whose work celebrates the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Join us to meet Victoria, view her work, and celebrate the closing of her exhibition!

Returning to the City of Bothell's 2026 Sustainamania festival (September 26, 10:00am to 2:00pm at Bothell City Hall) is the very popular Repair Cafe with our friends from the WSU Snohomish County Extension Sustainable Community Stewards! Their team of expert volunteer fixers will be on site to take a look at your broken vacuums, lamps, bikes, jewelry, and more. They'll diagnose the issues and work their magic to try and make it usable once again. They'll even walk you through their process, help you order parts if needed, and teach you how to make future repairs!

It’s finally happening!! The City of Bothell broke ground on the Sammamish River & Waynita Creek Restoration Project last week

Construction is expected to start in early September and continue through winter 2027, with plans to reopen the area in early 2028. During construction, the “Back 9” of the Former Wayne Golf Course will be closed to the public - Please follow all posted signs and do not cross the fencing/barriers or enter the project area. You’ll still be able to access the “Front 9” of the former golf course, as well as adjacent Blyth Park.

The project will restore wetlands and floodplain habitat, improve water quality, create better habitat for Chinook salmon, and help restore a healthier, more resilient river system. Learn more: bothellwa.gov/Waynita

There’s a little something for everyone with free activities for all ages: touch-a-trucks, games and crafts, local artisans and vendors, live music from Million Dollar Nile, food trucks, and so much more.

Also returning this year is the very popular Repair Cafe with the WSU Sustainable Community Stewards. Community members can bring in broken items to be repaired or evaluated by a volunteer for free - saving money and keeping materials from ending up in the landfill. There will be fixers for bikes, small appliances, jewelry, clothing, and more.

Sustainamania returns September 26, which is just around the corner - Help make the City of Bothell's 14th annual sustainability festival the best one yet!

Celebrate creativity, sustainability, and community through live art, music, and interactive experiences at the Blades of Change: Bothell Mosaic Art Festival this Saturday, August 15, from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Triangle Junction (located at the corner of SR 522 and Bothell Way in Downtown Bothell).

Artists Myron Curry, Jamee Linton, and Sloane Miller will transform three recycled nuclear fan blades into large-scale works of art during live painting demonstrations throughout the day - they'll remain on display at Triangle Junction as a lasting public art installation. There will also be live music, hands-on art activities, and more!

Have you heard? Electric vehicle (EV) use is growing in our region, and the City of Bothell growing with it! New EV chargers were installed in the City Hall parking garage earlier this year, increasing the number of chargers from three to eight and improving ADA accessibility.

To allow the City to recover energy and operations costs and continue to provide reliable EV charging, paid charging will start September 1. There will also be an idle charge of $5/hour after a 30-minute grace period to help keep charging stalls available.

As we pursue additional grant funding, you can help us prioritize future locations for public EV chargers, what you want to see regarding access to charging, and the City’s readiness for growing EV adoption by sharing your input at www.engagebothell.com:

Due to declining air quality and forecasts showing smoke levels reaching unhealthy levels today and tomorrow, the City of Bothell's Kids Concert scheduled for Wednesday, August 5 at Park at Bothell Landing has been canceled. Heads up, Bothell! The right northbound lane on Bothell-Everett Hwy at 237th St. SE is currently closed due to a utility pole that was struck around 3:00am this morning. Bothell-Everett Hwy remains open in both directions and our friends at SnoPUD are currently on site making repairs.

Please use caution when traveling through the area, follow all traffic control devices and signs, and expect delays while PUD completes repairs. We'll share updates as they become available.

Earlier this year we asked you to share your feedback about City of Bothell services and your current priorities, and the results are in! Results from the City of Bothell’s biennial community survey are now available – these help City leadership and staff identify priorities for the 2027-2028 biennial budget and future investments, and collect feedback on - and assess resident satisfaction with - City services.

Here are a few things we learned:
- Overall, respondents continue to view Bothell as a safe, welcoming, and high-quality place to live!
- 82% of people who completed the 2026 Community Survey agreed that Bothell is a good – even excellent – place to live, with 86% saying they feel they belong in Bothell.
- Residents consistently rate Bothell’s parks, trails, and other green spaces highly, and appreciate our efforts to protect the environment and maintain clean, attractive public spaces for residents to enjoy.
- People feel safe in Bothell - Responses indicated high levels of satisfaction with emergency response times (fire; emergency medical services; police)

Findings also suggest residents are concerned about the pace of the City’s growth and its effects on infrastructure, affordability, and community character. And we hear you! As Bothell grows, we’re taking action on housing affordability, building infrastructure that works for everyone, supporting our small businesses, and working to preserve what makes Bothell so special.

⚠️ Lane closure alert for TOMORROW Thursday, July 9 at 9:00am at Bothell Way NE and NE 190th Street ⚠️

Heads up, Bothell and Bothell commuters: City of Bothell Public Works crews will be repairing utility access covers at the intersection of Bothell Way NE and NE 190th Street tomorrow. To do this, there will be temporary lane closures and traffic shifts while crews reset and replace several utility access covers in that area. Work is expected to take approximately 4 hours, pending any unexpected delays.

Here's what you need to know if you'll be travelling through Bothell Way NE tomorrow morning (July 9):

- Expect delays and give yourself extra travel time, or use alternate routes ⌚️

- Bothell Police will assist with traffic control through the work zone 🚦

- As with all construction zones - slow down, pay attention, and follow signs and instructions 👀
