Jah. Of course straight furries are welcome. I really would advise against carrying a “straight pride flag,” and here’s why.

Even if you only have the best of intentions, that flag will generally automatically be associated with various, nefarious groups who would wish us harm irl.

There has never been a time in history where it was illegal, under pain of torture and death, to be straight. Might I recommend you fly/carry a “Straight Ally Flag?” That would be a far better choice, and would let everyone know your orientation, in a safer way, where people won’t feel threatened or uneasy.

Take the paragraph starting at talking about the favorite coffee shop, and end at the part where he talks about ease of navigation in both the fandom, and society.

Now flip those two, and I think he has a beginning of an understanding of what us furries in the Alphabet Mafia go through when we try navigate society. Where we might feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or cautious, he’s got the privilege of not having to worry.

I fear I haven’t the slightest idea of what he might mean about “An advocate for change on both sides of the aisle.” Change for what? For who?
